Body Wand: review of a magic wand vibrator!

on

If I tell you “magic wand” and “Japan”, what would you answer…? No, wrong, this article isn’t about Sailor Moon. Here I’ll be talking about the Body Wand, a vibrator with an odd design (off-putting?) but astonishing effectiveness.

Body Wand

Body Wand: of course, for aching muscles!

In principle, the Body Wand is a massage device. You can use it to massage your back and neck, for example. Yes, yes. I did test it a bit, and it’s not unpleasant. But its ability to ease our aching muscles isn’t what we’ll remember. What I’m interested in first and foremost, of course, is its effects on the clit. Because the Body Wand is, above all, a (very) powerful vibrator.

It’s actually from the family of vibrators derived from the iconic Hitachi “Magic Wand”. The latter apparently has become banned from sale in France (but just in France). Why? A mystery, I couldn’t find the information on the internet.

In any case, it has spawned a host of newcomers, such as the Body Wand or the much more well-known but apparently identical Fairy from the Japanese brand.

A … strange appearance

At first sight, if you don’t know it yet, the Body Wand is a little frightening. It also comes in a rechargeable version and a mini version, but this is the original, the most effective one I’ve acquired.

It plugs into the mains, and its dimensions are imposing. In fact, it measures more than thirty centimetres in length, and its head is more than seven centimetres in diameter. In practice, this is no problem at all, because it’s intended for external use only. Still, it’s impressive!

With its white head and bluish handle, you can’t really call it stylish, but unlike its cousin the Fairy and its girly pink, it at least manages to stay understated.

Then you switch it on, and it starts to vibrate very, very, VEERY strongly.

So strong, in fact, that it’s very hard to keep your hand on its head at maximum power, and after this first contact, you’re left with a weird sensation in your palm for a good minute.

At this exact moment, I’m apprehensive, I hesitate to hand my delicate clitoris over to the formidable machine.

… And finally, we get started

I place the head of the Body Wand on my clitoris and turn, just a little, the dial that adjusts the intensity of the vibrations. And, before I have time to ask myself any questions, I climax almost immediately!

And given the length of the first round, the clit isn’t irritated one bit, so I hurry to start again.

This time, I place a bit more trust in the brave machine that has proven itself, and I start playing with the adjustment dial to increase and decrease the intensity as the mood dictates. And presto, a second orgasm. And we start again, again and again, until the moment we realise we’ve stopped counting.

The downside is that it’s so simple and quick that you get hooked. I eventually catch myself, legs splayed, giving myself a lightning-fast orgasm while waiting for the spaghetti to finish cooking or between two blog paragraphs… And I don’t exactly look smart or glamorous at that moment..

So the Body Wand, a miraculous sex toy?

Whoa, let’s not get too carried away either. The Body Wand is a sex toy that fully delivers, admittedly. The instant orgasm is handy, but limiting yourself to this kind of orgasm would be a shame. So yes, it’s essential to have it (or one of its counterparts) in a good sex toy collection. But it won’t in any way replace its calmer, more classic counterparts.

And for the partners of happy owners of a Body Wand, don’t panic: never, ever, will a sex toy, however orgasmic it may be, become a substitute for all the sensations, emotions and excitement one can feel in a two-person encounter. On the other hand, nothing stops you using it together.

Edit: Mystery solved regarding the ban on the Hitachi “Magic Wand”: in fact, it was banned in all the countries of the European Economic Area, because its power supply does not comply with CE standards.

Second edit (October 2013): a clone of the Magic Wand is now marketed in the European Union: the Europe Magic Wand, whose review you can read on Objets De Plaisir.
