I wanted to introduce you to a sex toy that’s not really easy to find for us French speakers (which I find quite a shame): the Fleshlight Flight.

The Fleshlight Flight is available in two colours, black or white. There is also a variant with a graduated cup at its end: the Fleshlight Flight MD, whose internal texture is slightly different. The model I tested is the classic black version (the white one is identical).

In this review, it will quite often be compared to the only reference I know and own, a Tenga Flip Hole Black.

The packaging

The Fleshlight Flight lands arrives in a bluish packaging, with a clear window.

Here, we can immediately notice a break with the usual Fleshlight range: unlike the other Fleshlights, no perhaps too ‘porn’ vibe, no naked ladies displayed on the product, etc. In short, it’s simple.

Anyway, the box isn’t necessarily meant to be kept. But, anyway, this is what gives us our first approach to the product. I admit I’m not much of a fan of the ‘hard porn’ side that the Fleshlight brand generally carries.

A note on the box tells us that the Flight usually contains nothing toxic.

 

The Flight is supplied with a small amount of lubricant and a user manual. (emergency exits, use of the lifejacket etc... Oh no, sorry, I digress).

Introducing the Fleshlight Flight

The break with the rest of the range continues here. Fleshlight products usually tend to be quite “oversized”, compared to the average size of construction machinery for masturbators, resulting in a rather bulky sextoy, and not very discreet.

The Flight bucks the trend. Its dimensions are close to those of the Tenga Flip Hole, only slightly bulkier, despite its smaller interior. Its total length is 8 inches, i.e. approximately 20.5 centimetres.

On the outside, it’s fairly discreet. In fact, more so than the Flip Hole. So you’re left with a plain plastic object, black or white depending on the version.

Discretion is all relative

Now, in practice, if the closed object doesn’t catch people’s attention the way a phallus- or vagina-shaped sextoy, or a well-known sextoy, would, it’s still difficult to come up with a justification if you’re asked…

“Um, what’s this thing?”

– Oh, that’s a pre-Columbian piece of art my mother-in-law gave me! “

You can always give it a try, I’m not sure that will work…

Besides, if the curious person inspects the object a little more closely, they will then notice the ‘Flight’ inscription, and if their curiosity prompts them to open the front cap, they will find the sleeve made from a soft material, characteristic of Fleshlights.

This sleeve is white and transparent, not “flesh-coloured”, nor bluish like the version Alien. Personally, I don’t really have a preference as to the colour: let’s just say that in transparent, I find it more understated.

You can always try the last camouflage card:

Jokes apart, this masturbator, admittedly discreet, can therefore come with you, but like any indescribable object, if you’re asked about it, it’s hard to brush off the questions… In short, it’s discreet, but it doesn’t fool budding Sherlocks or the curious.

Note that the Flight’s airflow adjustment cap is angled (unlike the one on other Fleshlights). The device therefore won’t stand upright when placed on this side.

Use

A plastic smell

On first unboxing, the Flight is no exception. Just as he had noticed in other Fleshlight models, the Flight also tends to smell strongly. Nothing awful, but it’s still quite smelly.

A hot water soak for a few minutes and cleaning the plastic shell were enough to fix this issue.

However, just as he had pointed out, it is strongly recommended to rinse the device in hot water before use, for both user comfort and getting rid of the smell that tends to come back.

Let’s now get to the heart of the matter: using it. Yes, because, well, a sextoy isn’t really a decorative object, basically, you know…

As I mentioned previously, the Flight is shorter than other Fleshlights. This means the usable length is also smaller. The advertised penetrable length is 6 inches, i.e. 15.5 cm. This size is normally more than sufficient for all medium-sized penises, if we go by the official average size (between 12.5 and 14.5 cm).

 

But this characteristic still needs to be taken into account: if your penis is larger than average, you’ll end up bumping into the cap at the end that is used to manage the pressure. The appeal of this Fleshlight, with its reasonable dimensions, can therefore become a drawback if the size of your equipment exceeds 17 cm (up to 17 cm, it should remain more or less usable, because the advertised 15.5 cm of insertable length does not take into account the “bulge” of the sleeve near the entrance, which leaves a little margin.

For others, the Flight allows you to reach all the zones and go all the way to the end of the sex toy.
The Tenga Flip Hole is, for its part, larger and can accommodate larger sizes without issues.

The sensations

Now let’s talk about the sensations. The Flight has different zones (“chambers”), not necessarily recognisable in action (the details are not very noticeable). Its sleeve is very supple.

Open cap

In practice, if the opposite cap is unsealed, the sensations are minimal. This is not about direct stimulation via zones, as is precisely the case with the Flip Hole (which stimulates locally via different precise zones as you pass through them), but about overall stimulation and under pressure. The entire appeal of the Flight therefore lies in its resistance and suction phenomenon, depending on the direction of movement, which surrounds the entire penis.

Closed plug

And if the opposite plug is open, the sensations are not very strong, but it is a different story once it is closed.

The whole point is being able, at any time, to adjust the intensity. Given the range covered, I think it should be entirely possible for everyone to find a setting that suits them, as it ranges from a pressure that blocks movement (when fully closed, it is practically impossible to move around inside) to a very light intensity once the whole thing is open.

Compared to the Tenga Flip Hole

The sensation is completely different from that provided by sex toys that stimulate specific areas (such as the Flip Hole). I have a slight preference for this “pressure” sensation over zone-based stimulation, because more progressive, easier to manage/adjust, and therefore leading to orgasm more gradually.

My penis also seems less “sensitive” after use, because the compression is mainly by air, not by a protruding module that rubs. At least, that is what I feel after using the Flight, unlike the Flip Hole. It should therefore be more suitable for frequent sessions…

But it remains subjective nonetheless, and everyone must make their own choice. For me, these two sex toys are completely complementary, and not really competitors.

 

It should be noted that whereas a Flip Hole requires quite a generous amount of lubrication (because of its stimulation modules), the Fleshlight Flight itself needs very little of it.

Watch out for splashes

Now, if this principle of adjusting the suction is nice, watch out for the “grand finale”…

Indeed, it is strongly recommended, for a “clean” use (i.e., if you want to avoid having to clean the area afterwards), to close the plug completely at the moment of ejaculation… Otherwise, it is not just air that may escape from the back of the Fleshlight Flight… It is a flaw, but it is perfectly understandable given its design.

But well, generally, you tend to finish the whole thing with maximum intensity and therefore with the plug closed, so no problem. But it remains a notable potential flaw, compared to the Flip Hole, which cannot let anything escape.

Cleaning

All you need to do is open the air adjustment cap, remove the sleeve, and rinse it all with warm/tepid water. Leave it all to dry overnight, and there you go…

The downside being that the dry sleeve tends to stick. So putting it back in its case isn’t necessarily ultra easy, but it’s not overly complicated either.

That’s also why, before each use, it’s better to rinse it with warm water. Both for comfort in terms of temperature, and for lubrication.

Conclusion

The Fleshlight Flight is clearly a good sex toy, as I would like to see more of them.

It corrects, for me, the flaw of the Fleshlight range by not having any “hardcore porn” connotation, remaining simple to use, a versatile and portable design, a good, adjustable efficiency.

Its reasonable size becomes, in the case of medium-sized penises, an advantage. For once, you make good use of all the zones of the sex toy and the intensity can be very high since you occupy all the space inside.

But as mentioned previously, watch out for larger sizes, for whom it can become a drawback, even a source of discomfort, since inserting the full length of the penis into the sex toy will then be impossible, and the glans risks bumping into the bottom.
