Since its launch last year, the Tour est Folle, a Made in France sex toy shaped like the Eiffel Tower, has received a few updates.
Its creator, Sébastien Lecca, sent us a sample so that we could see for ourselves.
Among the new features, a smoother texture, and… a lampshade. What’s the point of putting a lampshade on a plug? I’ll admit the question leaves me a little perplexed.
A lampshade on a plug: why?
Sébastien Lecca first told me it would look more presentable in shop windows. Then he explained that this feature would allow shy people to keep their Tour est Folle on their bedside table. Except that, generally, um, how to put it…
When you’re shy, you don’t display a plug shaped like the Eiffel Tower in your bedroom… With or without a lampshade…
But in any case, it’s amusing, because the inside of the lampshade contains a phosphorescent disc, which, once illuminated, glows in the dark for a few minutes.
The Tour est Folle is unfortunately not a real lamp for all that. Perhaps integrating a few diodes would have made the sex toy more attractive. Since we’re putting a lampshade on a plug, it might as well actually illuminate!
With this sartorial choice, the Tour est Folle seems to be betting more on a role as a decorative object than that of a pleasure object. It’s true that inserting a plastic Eiffel Tower into the vagina or the anus, it’s somewhat disconcerting.
But it must be acknowledged that you’ll hardly find a Paris souvenir more original than this one.

The Tour est Folle is for sale on its official website, and in many French online sex shops. As for the matching lampshade, it does not appear to be for sale at the moment.
