Having had great success with our review of Lelo’s Bob plug, we wanted to try the Lelo Billy, an anal vibrator from the same brand.
Marketed as a prostate stimulator for men, this sex toy has a ring at the base of its insertable part, which allows safe anal insertion. And women can use it perfectly well too.
Here’s our review of the Lelo Billy.
Sex toy packaging
As usual with Lelo, the packaging is impeccable.
There’s an outer cardboard box (the same colour as the sex toy inside), with a picture of the Billy on one side and the brand name on the other.
Inside, there’s a second box, this time black, containing the Billy, the charger, a satin pouch, a small instruction booklet, a sachet of lubricant and the one-year warranty card.
You can keep the box, and if you’re short on space, the satin pouch comes in handy.
The Lelo Billy’s appearance
Like Bob, Billy is marketed as a sex toy for men. Just in case we hadn’t got the message, their names and colours are firmly in the masculine realm (no pink or flashy colours, then!). But don’t worry, as a woman, I can tell you it works very well too.
It measures 174 millimetres (including the non-insertable part) and has a diameter of 29 mm.
Texture and materials
Billy is made of silicone and is guaranteed to be phthalate-free.
It’s very soft to the touch.
Powering the Lelo Billy
The Lelo Billy is rechargeable. It takes about 2 hours to charge before you can use it, and according to Lelo, it lasts for 4 hours.
Controls and vibrations
Billy has four buttons: “plus”, “minus” and two arrows.
The “plus” button switches it on, and a long press on “minus” switches it off.
Once the sex toy is on, the arrows let you move between the different modes, while “plus” and “minus” adjust the intensity.
The 5 vibration modes are:
- Continuous vibration
- Repeated bursts with pauses
- Very short bursts
- Small pulses
- Repeated bursts
Well, to be honest, it’s not necessarily easy to tell the different modes apart.
Both my partner and I preferred to stick to continuous vibrations, finding the other modes unconvincing.
Using the Lelo Billy
As the Lelo Billy is made of silicone, it’s best to use a water-based lubricant so as not to risk damaging it. Its shape is designed for easy insertion, and given its size, there’s no discomfort at all.
I have to admit that, generally speaking, I’m not a fan of vibrations, preferring other types of stimulation.
Feeling vibrations in this part of my anatomy was a little surprising at first. But the anus is a very highly innervated area, and therefore very sensitive, so this produces very interesting and very strong reactions that spread throughout the area around the anus. Using Billy alongside clitoral stimulation produces powerful orgasms.
My partner tried it solo, with equally effective results. Contrary to what you might think, the controls are easy to reach and change during use. She preferred to start with low vibrations and gradually build up the intensity.
Billy’s soft texture and shape make it a very pleasant toy to use for penetration.
Conclusion on the Lelo Billy
The good points:

The bad points:
- The different vibration modes don’t add much
Billy is an effective anal vibrator and very pleasant to use. Lelo is a quality brand I really like, combining design and performance.
