The Lelo Ella is a dildo mainly designed for G-spot stimulation. It’s not a new release: it has been around for a while. But I’ve heard and read a lot of good things about it, which is why I wanted to test it.
The Ella shares many similarities with the Lelo Gigi 2, which we reviewed a while ago. But it doesn’t vibrate, and it sits in a much more accessible price range.
So here is our review of the Lelo Ella.
Sex toy packaging
For a Lelo sex toy, impeccable packaging. It’s not a recognised saying, but it’s close.
The Ella doesn’t break the rule. The packaging is incredibly neat. It’s a beautiful cardboard box, made up of two layers: a thin box with the sex toy image, on a thicker case-style box. And a satin storage case is included.
The Lelo Ella’s look
Like the Lelo Gigi 2, which also targets the G-spot, the Ella has small “elephant trunk” sides. Curved, it widens into a flat oval tip, almost identical to the Gigi’s.
The Lelo Ella is quite small, but still a bit longer than the Gigi. It measures 17.5 centimetres (measured in a straight line).
But its insertable part is longer, because the sex toy is reversible. Both ends can be inserted (your choice); the boundary between the toy’s head and handle is not clearly defined.
Texture and materials
The Ella is made of medical-grade silicone, with a very soft surface.
Its texture is surprising: at first glance, you’d think it’s rigid. Its surface is quite firm, yet it’s (slightly) flexible, enough for its head to tilt under pressure and take the desired angle.
Using the Lelo Ella
The G-spot, or Gräfenberg point, is a highly innervated area located on the front wall of the vagina, a few centimetres from the entrance.

The Lelo Ella is supposed to be reversible, but inserting its “head” (the flared side) first seems the most logical way to stimulate the G-spot. I did try it both ways.

In the “pointed” direction
If you start with the “pointed” end, the LELO Ella is very easy to insert.
It gradually widens along its length and gives pleasant sensations, but without really targeting the G-spot.
You can slightly feel the raised logo on each side of the sex toy. It’s not very annoying, but it’s not perfect either.
In short: this dildo is usable from the pointed side, but it’s not its optimal direction. So I quickly flipped it over.
In the “G-spot” direction
The flattened and flared end of the LELO Ella is the one really intended for stimulating the well-known G-spot.

When you insert the sex toy this way, the flat side must point towards the navel, so that its entire surface presses against the area of the front wall of the vagina, one to two centimetres in diameter, which we equate with the G-spot.

I found two ways of using it that I like:
- Either by making circular movements while maintaining a fairly constant pressure.
- Or by doing more or less fast in-and-out movements to make the Ella’s head bump against my G-spot.
The end of the Lelo Ella presses in a firm and pronounced way, but never too hard. In fact, its “neck” bends under pressure, letting its head tilt with the movements.

I often use a vibrator on my clit in addition, because I like the stimulation to be spread across both sides.
Using it this way, admittedly, it’s not exactly easy on my wrist, but I get fairly quickly (but not without effort) very intense orgasms.

Conclusion on the Lelo Ella
Pros:
- Its shape and texture allow it to stimulate the G-spot in a particularly effective way.
- Its relatively low price (less than €50), which is simply due to its simplicity and above all the fact that the Lelo Ella has been around for a few years now, which makes no difference to its quality.
Cons:
- No particular downside. However, apart from its texture and shape, it’s a “classic” dildo with no high-tech features… In short, it doesn’t do the job on its own; you have to work it “by the strength of the wrist”, which some people will like and others less so.
Review score
Pros
- Very effective for G-spot stimulation
- Understated, simple design
- Very low price
Cons
- No high-tech features
The LELO Ella is not a sex toy for the lazy. Admittedly, it takes some effort to use. But its shape and texture are very well thought out, and it is devilishly effective for G-spot stimulation.
Besides, since it has been out for a while now, it’s not very expensive, and it comes with impeccable quality.
If you’re looking for a good non-vibrating sex toy without wanting to spend a scary amount on it, it’s an excellent choice.
