Photos: in the company of a sexy teddy bear

A series of photos with a sexy teddy bear… Well, sexy or creepy, that’s debatable. Indeed, this strange animal is a sex toy.

The Teddy Love: a sex toy plushie

The snout and little tongue of the Teddy Love vibrate: the bear is supposed to give its owner cunnilingus. And as for the controls, they’re located in one of its front paws.

Its vibrations aren’t particularly powerful. But to be honest, given the look of the thing, I suspected as much before I even received it.

However, its biggest drawback remains the fact that it’s not washable. Electronic components and fabric don’t mix well when it comes to hygiene. I’ll leave it to your imagination to picture the look on poor Teddy’s face after a few weeks of use.

Sexy teddy bear or creepy?

The brand that sells the Teddy Love presents it as a more affordable sex toy, for the shy and self-conscious of every kind.

That said, I doubt this argument actually holds water. Walking into a sex shop and asking the seller for a vibrator — does that make you nervous? Well then, go ahead and try asking that same seller for a teddy bear, whose shop mainly stocks dildos, vibrators, inflatable dolls and porn DVDs! It’s a bit out of context, isn’t it?

And as for its effectiveness, in reality, I wasn’t able to check for myself. Indeed, I tend to consider plushies as objects with some sort of “soul”.

No, I’m not completely crazy, I know very well that it’s just an impression. But it doesn’t stop the fact that the prospect of having sex with a teddy bear whose two round eyes stare at me innocently completely puts me off. In short, no, this once I made an exception, I didn’t dare try this sex toy.

However, if this sexy teddy bear isn’t clearly meant for me or for the shy, it can be interesting in certain very specific contexts. In particular, for people who have an infantilisation fetish.

And while I’m at it, a quick bit of trivia: the sexual attraction to teddy bears is called ursusagalmatophilia. Not to be confused with arctophilia, which is the art of collecting teddy bears.

A compulsive sex toy collector whose stash now dwarfs my wardrobe, I review every new toy with a critic's sharp eye.
