The Fun Factory ShareVibe is a vibrating strapless strap-on. We tested it.
The Fun Factory Share is a sex toy that caught my eye straight away, and I was sold before I’d even tried it. So yes, even though it has plenty of flaws and isn’t the sex toy I use most often, I still really love it.
I was keen to try its new version, the ShareVibe. Firstly, to test the vibrating version of this strapless strap-on, and secondly, to see whether its flaws had been improved.
So here’s my review of the Fun Factory ShareVibe, thanks to the Body House shop.
The sex toy’s packaging
Fun Factory’s packaging is as familiar as ever: a cardboard box with a photo of the sex toy on it.
The box is nice, but nothing special. There’s not much more to say about the design, which is always the same.
It says it’s a toy for couples, whether lesbian or straight.
We received the purple version, but it also comes in pink and flesh-coloured.
Its total length is 21.9 centimetres, so it’s a little smaller than the Share.
The “passive” part is 2.7 cm in diameter and 13 cm long, compared with 3.5 cm in diameter and 16 cm long for the Share. The “active” part has a diameter of 3.8 cm in both cases.

At first glance, there are already some big differences between the Share and the ShareVibe:
- The penetrating part is much thinner on the new version, and above all, completely smooth. The phallic look of the glans and veins is gone.
- The second difference is the prominent part that the clitoris presses against. It’s much more pronounced on the ShareVibe.
- There’s also a big difference in the angle of the bulb for the “active” partner. It’s much tighter than on the Share, and above all, much less flexible.

Texture and materials
The ShareVibe is made from 100% medical-grade silicone. Its composition is therefore safe for your health.
In terms of texture, it’s a little less soft than the Share, although it still feels nice to the touch.
It has the same flaw as the other toys from the brand: it attracts a huge amount of dust.
Both the silicone part and the vibrating capsule are completely waterproof. So you can rinse it under water without a second thought, or use it in a swimming pool or hot tub if you fancy.
Obviously, the vibrating capsule is the important point here; it’s the big innovation in this new version of the Share. It’s a very simple capsule with just one button.
The capsule recharges using Fun Factory’s Click n’Charge system: a USB cable that you can plug into your computer or an adaptor (not supplied).
The average charging time is around two hours.

The capsule is pretty fiddly to remove and put back in; you have to use a bit of force.
It’s very simple to use, since there’s only one button: press once to switch it on, then each new press changes the mode. There are five, and it switches off when you reach the last one. You can also switch it off with a longer press, without having to go through all the modes.

The vibrations are pretty strong. I tried the ShareVibe solo for the first time, and the vibrations were enough to bring me to orgasm, which is already good news.
There are five modes in total. The first is continuous, while the others vary the vibrations.
The ShareVibe can be used for vaginal or anal penetration, with or without a harness (though with a harness like SpareParts).
As it’s made from silicone, it’s best to use a water-based lubricant so you don’t damage it.
First try
Our first try hadn’t started too badly, but after putting it off and trying it on my own for the first time, just when we thought it looked pretty good—bam, flat battery! What a pain!
So yes, you should know that this new version of the Share is absolutely no use without the vibrations. The “passive” part is frankly far too thin and short, and much too smooth to be any good. Nothing like the Share, which is very well designed in that respect.
Second attempt
Right, another attempt after recharging it. First question: harness or no harness? Come on, let’s be daring: I’ll try it without one first and see if it stays in a bit better than its predecessor.
And then came the first surprise (well, I’d already noticed this the time before, but now I could confirm it): the bulb is harder to insert than the Share’s. And that’s because the ShareVibe is much less flexible. Not a very pleasant start.

The result of trying it without a harness: it’s still just as difficult to keep in place if you don’t have a pelvic floor made of concrete.
So, on to the serious stuff: with a harness this time. Same story when it comes to inserting the bulb: it really isn’t easy (I should point out that I’ve never had any trouble with the Share). It’s a tiny bit better with the harness, but the lack of flexibility is still a real problem.
As for the vibrations, they’re pretty good for the person receiving them. The different types of vibration are quite pleasant.
However, there’s a real problem with the intensity. It starts off very strong straight away, which tends to numb the whole vagina and clitoris after a while. On the “active” side, I stopped feeling the vibrations very quickly, probably because of the numbing effect too. And the lack of flexibility was almost painful at times.
Another issue is the penetrating part being too short, which severely limits movement.

I’ll admit that, given how ineffective and impractical it was, we didn’t even feel like trying anal penetration.
The good points:
- The vibrations are pretty strong.
The bad points:
- You can’t adjust the intensity of the vibrations.
- Not flexible enough between the bulb and the penetrating part.
- The penetrating part isn’t much use: too thin, too short, too smooth.
Review score
Pros
- Fairly strong vibrations
Cons
- Non-adjustable intensity
- Penetrating part too short and too smooth
- Lack of flexibility
So, a big disappointment for this new version of the Share. I’ll stick with the old model, which, even though it has its flaws, is still very enjoyable and much easier to handle.
