Review of the realistic Johnny dildo by Vixen Creations

I expect a realistic dildo to be as convincing as possible in its resemblance to a penis, both in appearance and texture. That’s why the sex toys from the brand Vixen Creations have my full attention.

Their patented material, the VixSkin, is a body-safe blend as it is entirely made of silicones. It can perfectly replicate the various texture nuances one encounters on a penis. An erect penis is neither a stick nor a marshmallow, but a complex organ: straight, yet soft at the surface. Johnny represents a proud, well-endowed phallus, larger than the Goodfella, from the same brand, and also equipped with a small pair of testicles.

I won’t dwell on the Johnny’s packaging: in clear plastic, it is disposable.

A leaflet printed on the back gives a few instructions regarding the care of the dildo, and specifies that VixSkin sex toys are guaranteed for life. In the event of a problem, simply return the pleasure object along with proof of purchase, and the brand will replace it. It is also stated that Vixen Creations sex toys are manufactured in the USA, which assures us that the people who contributed to making this dildo did so under fair working conditions (which is rarely the case – and difficult to determine due to the lack of traceability for sex toys Made In China).

 

No storage case is provided, which is a bit of a shame for a sex toy that shouldn’t be left in contact with just anything.

Appearance of the Vixen Creations Johnny: a very realistic dildo

The Vixen Creations Johnny is a lifelike model of an erect penis, measuring 18 centimetres long and 4.5 centimetres in diameter, with a pair of testicles somewhat atrophied to form the sex toy’s wide, flat, thin base. The penis itself is exceptionally realistic: the veins along the shaft, the small folds around the foreskin, the frenulum and the glans are all carefully rendered, with anatomically accurate details. The only exception is the meatus, which is simply absent (probably because a hollow at the tip of the glans would not have been practical to clean). The broad base lets the dildo stand upright on its own or be held in a harness; its tiny, flattened testicles are fancifully shaped but still wrinkled like the real thing.

Texture and material: VixSkin is great

The Johnny (like all sex toys from Vixen Creations) is made of VixSkin, a blend of silicones (solid silicone and silicone lubricant) that is body-safe, non-porous and completely odourless. It allows for variations in texture and density across different areas of the toy.

This particular material requires a little more care than other types of silicone: it is compatible only with water-based lubricants. It tends to attract dust and lint, and the patterns imitating the folds of the testicles can easily trap dirt (lubricant or bodily fluids).

The core of the phallic part is firm, while remaining very supple and flexible in all directions, which allows it to maintain a convincing erection, while its exterior is soft. An erect penis is not hard as wood; it remains ‘cushiony’ on the surface, and this flesh-like texture is very well imitated. Of course, under the fingertips, you can still tell the difference. It doesn’t have the particular softness of skin. The surface is slightly smoother, and at the glans there is a small area where you can feel the boundary between the firm core and the soft surface. But a vagina is not as sensitive as fingers when it comes to texture details. So, during penetration, it is almost perfectly convincing. It’s worth noting that lubrication enhances the resemblance.

The base of the dildo is the hardest part, while the tops of the testicles are soft. Just to nitpick: the hard/soft transition at that point is a touch too abrupt to my taste.

As for cleaning, no problem at all, water and soap is all it takes. You can even boil it to disinfect it perfectly.

Beyond the superb texture, one appealing feature of the Johnny is that its wide, flat base gives it a rather good balance when it comes to standing upright, placed on a horizontal surface: the weight of its ‘testicles’ counterbalances the tilt of its erection.

Its wide, flat base allows it to be used for both anal penetration (be sure to lubricate well, it’s quite wide!) and vaginal. It also allows for a good grip, by placing the circular part on your palm and closing your fingers over it.

As I mentioned earlier, a vagina (or an anus, or a mouth) is far less perceptive than fingers when it comes to distinguishing Johnny from a real penis. Johnny will therefore prove particularly interesting in role-play involving a phallus, where you want to have a penis, or imagine it belongs to a third person. It’s rather big without being giant (upper-middle range, shall we say), with a believable shape and appearance. It’s a toy you can easily imagine belonging to an ordinary bloke who’s been a little lucky in the trunks department.

In terms of sensations, the glans being rather ‘soft’, inserting the toy is more pleasant than with a more ‘classic’ silicone dildo. It’s more comparable to a penis than a dildo, in fact. The substantial dimensions are appreciated. Its flexibility leaves plenty of room for imagination when it comes to positions (and unlike a penis, it won’t get hurt if you bend it at an acrobatic angle), and its curvature makes it easy to stimulate the G-spot.

The Vixen Creations Johnny can be slipped into a harness fitted with a ring attachment system (or “O-ring”), like the Tomboi or the SpareParts Joque.

However, the pair of flat, firm testicles pressed against the pubic bone don’t make it the height of comfort for the wearer. For roleplay, a big pair of balls in the knickers can look amusing, but if that’s not really your thing, it’s best to opt for a dildo with a round, flat base, or the Goodfella, whose balls dangle outside the harness, past the ring.

The good points:

• Thanks to its specific dual-density material, the Vixen Creations Johnny has a super realistic texture.
• Its appearance is also very convincing: it looks remarkably like a phallus, to the eye and touch.
• It is body-safe, non-porous and odour-free.
• It is made in the USA.

The downsides:

• No storage case is included.
• It easily collects dust and grime.
• Its price is quite high (around €135). But for an excellent sex toy, perfectly made and long-lasting, it’s an investment that’s worth it.
• Well, I’m really just nitpicking here… At the glans, with your finger, you can feel the demarcation between the firm zone and the soft zone.

 

 

 

The Vixen Creations Johnny I like as much as the Goodfella, or perhaps even more: between the two, I’m torn… It’s in any case a excellent realistic dildo, which I can only recommend. Its appearance is very convincing and its texture is almost perfect, in a non-toxic and durable material.
