Comet (Tantus)

Review of the Tantus Comet, a multicoloured dildo

on

The Tantus Comet is a multicoloured silicone dildo, pink, orange and green. It looks like it came straight from an ice cream van, or a Care Bears rainbow.

Tantus Comet

It is part of a range of space-themed sex toys made by Tantus. This range also includes another dildo, the Rocket, and two plugs, the Asteroid and the Meteorite, which are just as multicoloured.

Here is the review of the Tantus Comet dildo.

Packaging

The packaging is the same as that used on quite a few Tantus sex toys. It is clear plastic, to be thrown away after opening.

The sex toy

Appearance

I’ve already described the Tantus Comet in the intro, so I won’t dwell on its appearance again. But you’re welcome to look at the photos for as long as you like.

It measures 17 centimetres in length, of which 15 cm is insertable. Its maximum diameter is around 3.5 cm, but varies along its length, with raised sections and thinner sections. The Tantus Comet is noticeably thinner than its cousin, the Tantus Splash.

Its tip is very clearly curved.

Texture and materials

Like all the Tantus, the Comet is made of pure silicone and is therefore completely odourless.

It is very flexible, you can twist it in every direction. Its surface is quite “soft”.

Use

With its large curved tip, the Tantus Comet is clearly intended for G-spot stimulation (or P-spot, if a man is using it).

It can be used vaginally or anally. The Comet is inserted so that its tip points towards the navel.

Vaginal penetration

It penetrates fairly easily : it’s not too wide and is well rounded at the tip.

Its head comes to press directly into the G-spot area. The pressure is pronounced, well-targeted, but not too strong: you can feel that the material is soft. This makes the Comet easier to handle than a more rigid sex toy. Indeed, even if you don’t aim exactly at the right spot or go a bit too hard, the sex toy’s texture cushions the movement.

I generally use it in addition to clitoral stimulation. During cunnilingus, or with a vibrator, or even just with my fingers. Sometimes, I also use it as “foreplay” before using the Tantus Splash, which is significantly wider and textured.

In a harness

The Tantus Comet can be attached to a harness fitted with an “O-ring” fixing system, thanks to its wide, flat base. With the Joque and the Tantus Bend Over, it holds perfectly, which didn’t really surprise me.

A slight suction effect

On very smooth surfaces, I noticed a slight suction effect at the base, which is quite handy for keeping the toy in place. Not as much as the Fun Factory Tiger, whose grip is truly astonishing, but it is still fun.

Using just the force of their little suction cups, Tiger and Comet managed to lift my desk, which weighs about the same as a bear. Admittedly, this sex-toy superpower isn’t really useful, but it is impressive.

Conclusion on the Tantus Comet

The good points:

  • The Tantus Comet is vibrant and multicoloured. Not everyone will necessarily see that as a good point, but it is at least original and cheerful. Personally, it almost makes me hungry.
  • The material is impeccable; I can put my nose against it and sniff away without detecting any suspicious odour. A good point that you will find with all Tantus sex toys (well, I think so – at least it has been the case consistently so far). I have not the slightest doubt about the purity of the silicone.
  • The texture is really lovely. The top is squishy like a stress ball and can be angled like a joystick. As I’m writing this review, I keep the Comet on my desk next to my keyboard just for the pleasure of fiddling with it.

The downsides:

  • As usual with Tantus products, if you want to store it, you’ll have to make do: buy it a case, find a fabric pouch, or knit it a jumper. No additional accessories are included.
  • The Comet itself has no real downside to speak of. But it has no electronic gadgets, doesn’t vibrate, doesn’t pulse, doesn’t connect to the internet, and doesn’t dance the polka, which may disappoint fans of high-tech objects.

Review score

Comet (Tantus)
9 .4 / 10

Pros

  • It's a near-rainbow sex toy!
  • 100% medical silicone
  • Very effective for G-spot stimulation
  • It fits perfectly in a harness (and it also stands upright)

Cons

  • No storage accessory is included

In short:

The Tantus Comet is a dildo that is, all in all, fairly simple, but really lovely.

Its festive look – neither too cutesy nor too serious – puts you in a good mood, while its material is gentle with all the orifices that come near it, whether vaginas, anuses or nostrils (which doesn’t mean you can put it up your nose, mind you) – which also puts you in a good mood.

Its dimensions are considerable without being monstrous, and its squishy texture forgives clumsy handling.

In short, it’s a no-frills sextoy that doesn’t take itself too seriously, but doesn’t skimp on build quality. I recommend it without hesitation.
