Le Doxy Massager, a new British competitor to Hitachi’s Magic Wand, presents itself as “the world’s most powerful wand vibrator”…
A more powerful clitoral vibrator than the Fairy and the Europe Magic Wand? Is that possible? And if so, is such power actually useful? Or is it simply a pretext for selling yet another orgasm magic wand?
Pretentious or not, that remains to be seen, but such a start seemed, in any case, promising… So I felt I had to try this ultra-powerful vibrator.
Here is our review of the Doxy Massager, thanks to the shop Joujou.ch.
Doxy Massager packaging
Let’s quickly unbox the sex toy! The packaging is a fairly ordinary cardboard box, not especially hideous, but it’s not worth lingering over. Quick, I want to see, and above all try, this famous Doxy!
It’s worth noting, incidentally, that no storage accessory is included.
Look: a giant sex toy
Like most of its companions, the Doxy Massager resembles a sort of microphone… With one “detail” to add: it is enormous! Almost 35 centimetres long. Why have they made it so big? Is it due to a technical constraint, or is it simply to impress the onlookers?
Admittedly, Pipedream has done worse with its Wanachi Mega Massager, which is close to 55 centimetres, but in that case, it’s probably just to smash the record, and it gets ridiculous.
Normally, for an external vibrator, size is not what counts – apart from the diameter of the head, which affects how easy it is to use, but the sex toy still has to remain manageable. That is what we are going to check.
The head of the Doxy massager is grey, and the handle of the model we tested is black. But it also exists with a pink, white or purple handle. It remains in a fairly understated design, far from the girly side of the Fairys, without going as far as the coldness of the look of the Magic Wands of all kinds (Europe or Hitachi).
Texture and materials
The head of the Doxy Massager is made of a soft material, pleasant to the touch, under the finger or under the clitoris.
According to the brand’s official website, it is “non-porous hypoallergenic medical-grade PVC with no latex or undesirable phthalates”. What’s that? Given that PVC, in its original form, is rigid, this means that an additive must necessarily be involved in its composition, but I dare hope it isn’t “desirable phthalates”. In any case, it doesn’t smell bad, that’s something.
As for the neck, it is unfortunately clearly less flexible than that of the Europe Magic Wand or Fairy, but this lack of suppleness is compensated for by the softness of the head.

The body of the sex toy is made of rigid plastic. However, since it is not meant to come into contact with the genitals, we don’t really care.
Powering the Doxy Massager
The Doxy Massager is corded. So no water nearby: you don’t want to get electrocuted, vibrator in hand.
Its cable, the end of which is a transformer, is more than long enough: more than 3.5 metres (compared with 2.5 m for the Fairy Turbo and 2 m for the classic Fairies). That is more than enough to position yourself anywhere in a bed, even while doing the bridge or making kinks with the cable.
Controls and modes of the Doxy Massager
The controls on the Doxy Massager are extremely simple:
- a power button, which also lets you switch the thing off,
- and two buttons “+” and “-“, to vary the intensity of the vibrations.
As a bonus, if you press and hold the power button instead of giving it a short press, you get access to a pulsing mode. In practice, this mode is of little use. Vibrations that are so rough, alternating jerkily with distinct pauses, are neither great for building excitement (too powerful) nor for reaching orgasm.
There are nine intensity levels, giving a whole range of nuances from “powerful” to “very, very, very powerful”. There’s no level for the timid or a sensitive clitoris, which is a bit of a shame, but as for power, there’s no shortage! And that’s not to displease me.
Effectiveness of the Doxy Massager: a very powerful vibrator
Given its power, I probably won’t be telling you anything new if I say the Doxy Massager is ultra-effective.

But let’s get into the details:
- The Doxy is bulky, and in some positions, particularly when with a partner, it is a bit awkward… I don’t really know how to position it. Among other things, when I want to use it on all fours, the length of the perfectly positioned Doxy can exceed the distance from my clitoris to the surface of my bed. I sometimes find myself forced to fall back on a less optimal angle.
- Even at the first intensity level, it starts off very strong. If your clitoris is sensitive, or if you like to start with very gentle stimulation, then, this is not going to work. Well, as for me, even if I love playing with intensity variations, this slightly rough start does not displease me. I can always increase the power further if I feel like it.
- Although the power varies in steps, rather than with a dial like on the Fairy or Body Wands, it is sufficiently progressive for the transition between two levels to happen smoothly, with no momentum cut short by too abrupt a change.
- On contact, the texture of the head is pleasant. I had feared that the rigidity of the neck would be a downside in terms of sensation, but that is not the case.
- In terms of overall effectiveness, I confirm the initial hypothesis: its mega-power allows me to reach orgasm in under a minute.
Conclusion on the Doxy Massager
The good points:
- The Doxy Massager is ultra-mega-powerful.
- Its soft head is pleasant.
- The intensity variations are quite progressive between each level.
The bad points:
- It is a bit too bulky.
- Its price is high.
Review score
Pros
- Ultra powerful!
- Soft
- Simple controls
- Progressive intensity variations
Cons
- High price
- A bit bulky
The Doxy Massager doesn’t do subtlety, but it is a very good vibrator for anyone who wants near-instant orgasms. It is admittedly a bit expensive, yes, but practical, well designed, and of formidable effectiveness.
