Review of the Womanizer 2Go, a lipstick-shaped suction vibrator

on

Right now, clitoral suction vibrators are popping up left, right and centre. After Satisfyer’s Penguin, it’s Womanizer’s turn to release a miniature version of their now-famous clit-suction device: the Womanizer 2Go.

The Womanizer 2Go, a suction vibrator shaped like a lipstick

This name, which reads “Womanizer To Go”, touts the portability of the device: no (alas), it’s not a sextoy with 2 gigabytes of memory. It’s a vibrator shaped like a lipstick…

Well, the shape is definitely there, but there’s something of a scale error: the thing is roughly twice the size of a lipstick tube. Either the brand wanted to represent a makeup accessory for a sexy diplodocus, or… let’s just call it foundation (pink, for a floral complexion)…

Here’s our review of the Womanizer 2 Go, which was sent to us by the Dorcel Store shop.

Packaging

The packaging looks rather nice: a small, thick and sturdy cardboard box, in which the sextoy rests on a plastic base. Underneath this base are the charging cable, the user manual and a spare tip.

No storage case is included. This absence can be explained by the fact that the sextoy has a cap, so it already has everything it needs to protect its “sensitive” parts. Indeed, the clitoral tip, more fragile than the rest of the toy, must be kept immaculately clean.

However, given the price (€159, a price that seems fixed across all the shops that sell it), the brand could have made the effort to include a storage case, to justify the price by placing it in a “luxury” product category.

Appearance of the Womanizer 2Go

When I agreed to review the Womanizer 2 Go, I’d seen its official presentation photo. I was expecting to receive a vibrator that echoed the look of Chanel lipsticks. Same shape, same colours, and a logo in the same spirit, with a hole in the middle, as befits a Womanizer tip.

Not exactly my favourite look, but fine, why not… A pocket-sized Womanizer, that could be nice, and a fairly well-made lipstick imitation, it has the merit of being discreet.

Only, here’s the thing. The scale issue. It’s a giant lipstick vibrator. When I unboxed the thing, I immediately thought of the recurring internet theme “expectations vs reality”.

As I was telling you in the intro, the Womanizer 2Go is shaped like a lipstick… 13 centimetres long. Thirteen centimetres is more likely to correspond to the size of a penis than that of a lipstick.

You can’t really call it a mini-vibrator. And no, you can’t toss it discreetly in your pocket, unless we’re talking about an anorak pocket. As a trendy summer sextoy, it’s a miss.

Timely hick joke: but it’s lipstick for the lower lip! (insert a loud laugh here). The joke isn’t mine. But having read it a good twenty times about this vibrator, I couldn’t tell you who originally said it.

Still, a fake lipstick the size of three watermelons (ok, I’m exaggerating a bit), I find it downright ridiculous. I feel like I’m dealing with a children’s toy, or a counterfeit Chanel lipstick made by aliens who had never seen a human mouth.

After discussing it with other sextoy reviewers, I learned that not everyone shared this opinion. Some actually find it pretty. In any case, for my part, I find it very ugly.

Texture and material

The tip of the sextoy (the part that represents the “lipstick” – the fuchsia stick of the lipstick) is made of 100% medical-grade silicone, a non-porous and body-safe material. The rest of the toy is rigid plastic.

Powering the sextoy

The Womanizer 2Go is USB rechargeable. Its cable, with a proprietary connector on the toy end, clips into the base of the Womanizer.

Controls and modes

The Womanizer 2Go has just a single button. This allows you to turn the sextoy on and off, and to cycle through the 6 intensity levels, which is two fewer than the Womanizer Pro 40.

If, in the heat of the moment, you keep pressing the button after the last mode, you go back to the first, the weakest… Which tends to kill the mood. This flaw is also present on the Satisfyer Pro 2 and its little brother the Satisfyer Pro Penguin, but the controls on the Womanizer Pro 40 were impeccable.

Noise level

The sound emitted by the Womanizer 2 Go is a sort of fart noise, as with the other Womanizers or their counterparts. This noise is very quiet when the toy is properly positioned against the clitoris. But it becomes noticeably more annoying when it’s running “without a seal” or poorly positioned (with air getting in).

The noise level isn’t that high, however, the noise isn’t exactly sexy. Overall, it seems a tad noisier than the Womanizer Pro 40, but it’s in the same range.

Effectiveness of the Womanizer 2Go

At maximum intensity, the Womanizer 2Go is less powerful than the Pro 40. But it still does its job: triggering orgasms, quickly and effectively.

It should be noted, however, that the bevelled shape of the clitoral tip is less practical for enveloping the clitoris. This means you have to hold the toy at a 45° angle, it slips more easily, and you then lose the suction effect (and therefore, the effect altogether). In short, a false move can more easily kill the mood.

With the wider spare tip, this problem occurs less frequently. But between this flaw and the drop in power, compared to the Womanizer Pro 40, it’s a step back…

Conclusion

The good points:

  • The Womanizer 2Go does its job: it’s powerful enough to bring you to orgasm quickly.
  • Although it’s not really a mini-vibrator, it’s still relatively small.

The bad points:

  • I find its look rather ridiculous.
  • Its controls are less practical than those of the Womanizer Pro 40.
  • It’s less powerful than the Womanizer Pro 40.
  • It’s too expensive for the quality provided.

Womanizer 2 Go

In my eyes, the Womanizer 2 Go is far from a success. It’s a functional sextoy, and capable of triggering orgasms… But at an exorbitant price, ugly, and with regressions compared to its predecessor.

In itself, it’s not a bad vibrator. It’s made of body-safe materials, it’s rechargeable with a battery that holds up quite well, and above all, it almost guarantees pleasure.

If it had cost around forty euros, even if I don’t like its look, I would probably have recommended it. But nearly 160 euros for a device of questionable taste whose many flaws could easily have been avoided, it strikes me as over the top.

If you want a lovely suction vibrator, I’d recommend choosing the Womanizer Pro 40 or the Satisfyer Pro 2 instead.
