We recently set out to make a silicone dildo from a 3D printed mould. In this article, we’re going to tell you about the 3D design of the sex toy.
If you missed the beginning of the story, we first revealed the reasons for our choice, then we discussed the necessary equipment.
3D designing a sex toy requires a decent computer, as well as modelling software. To model a beautiful 3D penis, Him used two pieces of software: first, ZBrush, to sculpt the penis, and then Blender, to touch up the model and then design the mould from its negative. There is a free, but very limited, version of ZBrush, while Blender is open-source software.

I wanted a dildo representing a dragon’s penis, with androgynous and floral aspects.
The dildo will therefore be a phallus with well-defined ridges, equipped at its tip with a sort of clit-pistil.
We then looked for a name for it. We wanted a sex toy in cool tones, so to name it, we looked at Norwegian epicene names. Our dildo will therefore be named Alva.
3D design of the sex toy: the mould
Next, it was necessary to invert the 3D model of the dildo to obtain the hollow shape corresponding to the negative of the sex toy in the mould.
Him modelled the mould in the shape of a rectangular box in two halves, with four cylindrical rods on one, fitting into four complementary shaped hollows on the other.
3D design of the sex toy: the colours
Once the shape of the mould was designed, we then set about choosing the colours we wanted to give our dildo. Fuchsia, dark blue, white and black.
Spoiler: we did use these shades, but the result doesn’t look at all like what we had planned.
3D design of the sex toy: the base
We wanted a suction cup base. For this, Him designed a piece to be placed on the mould after pouring the silicone to form a hollow dome at the base of the sex toy.
And this technique worked rather well.
We now have the 3D model of the mould which will allow us to make a silicone dildo. In the next article, we will see together how we 3D printed this mould.
