We had the chance to test the Lovemoiselle Cecile vibrator, a ceramic sex toy.
I set off in search of a sex toy from the Lovemoiselle brand after a comment from R., who was looking for a pretty porcelain sex toy.
During my research, I saw a lot of ceramic sex toys, but none in porcelain. Perhaps it is for reasons of sturdiness… Indeed, porcelain is a very fine variety of ceramic. Or perhaps it is simply harder to manufacture. The Lovemoiselle products are just ceramic, so probably a little thicker.
With its delicate floral design and soft curves, the Lovemoiselle Cecile is pretty, and rather original. But is it effective?
Packaging and accessories
The packaging
The Lovemoiselle Cecile arrives in a cardboard package, featuring a clear plastic “window” that gives a glimpse of its contents.
The sort of packaging that will one day end up in the bin, but which looks nice at unboxing time.
Opening this cardboard box, you find a velvet case, a brochure showing the various Lovemoiselle-brand sex toys, and the sex toy. This one is held in a foam base, which prevents it from moving. This is probably to avoid knocks during transport.
The sex toy case
The case is black velvet. It fastens by pulling a small drawstring.
The sex toy
The vibrator’s appearance
The sex toy has two parts.
The longer one is meant to be inserted. It is white ceramic, decorated with a very stylised purple flower design.
The very short plastic “handle” is purple. This is where you will hold the sex toy in your hand.
Texture and materials: a ceramic sex toy
The part of the sex toy intended to be inserted is ceramic.
It is a hard, smooth, non-porous and hypoallergenic material, which is temperature-resistant and unlikely to react chemically with other sex toys.
On the downside, you will, of course, have to avoid any knocks, check before every use that it is not chipped, and stop using it if you notice a crack, a chip, or an area that seems unusually fragile.
The handle is hard plastic (ABS or PVC plastic?).
Care
Since the Lovemoiselle Cecile is a vibrator, it contains electronic components. And its battery compartment is not waterproof. So you must not immerse it in water. It does, however, appear resistant to splashes.
You will clean it, after removing the batteries and closing the compartment, by washing its ceramic part with water and soap while taking care not to wet the handle, or using a sex toy cleaner.
Power supply
The Lovemoiselle Cecile runs on two AAA batteries.
You insert these batteries by unscrewing a compartment located on the sex toy’s “handle”, in the same place as the power button. To do this, you hold the sex toy in one hand, with the handle upwards, and apply pressure to the handle while turning it anti-clockwise.
The vibrations
The sex toy has one and only one button, round, located on its handle.
You switch on the Lovemoiselle Cecile by pressing and holding this button.
Then, you switch from one vibration mode to the next with a single press of this same button.

The Cecile has five distinct modes:
- Weak vibrations
- Strong vibrations
- Strong pulses
- A mode featuring pulses of varying intensity: a weak one, a medium one, a strong one. Pause. Three strong ones.
- A mode featuring pulses of varying duration: a long one, four short ones, a long one.
Finally, you switch off the Lovemoiselle Cecile by pressing and holding its button again.
Using the sex toy
Handling
The handle may be a bit too short, but, despite this detail, the sex toy is fairly easy to hold in the hand.
It is very easy to access the controls, since the Lovemoiselle Cecile has only one button, which will be within finger reach during use.
Clitoral stimulation
The vibrations of the Lovemoiselle Cecile are too weak to be of any real interest for clitoral stimulation. It is rather a sex toy intended for vaginal penetration.
Generally, rigid materials are more often suited to vaginas than clitorises, which tend to favour more “cushiony” textures associated with powerful vibrations. On re-reading my sentence, I realise it has a bit of a “nature documentary about that strange little creature that is the clitoris” feel to it.
Vaginal penetration
This is where the Lovemoiselle Cecile comes into its own. Remember that it is a ceramic sex toy.
Its texture is incredibly smooth, and its shape allows it to penetrate easily, without needing to smear tons of lubricant inside. The contact is firm, but very gentle.
It is not curved (sex toys intended to stimulate the area of the vagina associated with the “point G” often are), but by tilting it slightly, you can easily reach this area.
You can, if you wish, use a clitoral vibrator simultaneously. You should preferably choose a vibrator made from a rather soft material, in order to avoid any possible knocks between the two sex toys.
You can also take advantage of its material to play with temperatures, by dipping the sex toy in hot or iced water before using it. To do this, simply hold it under the tap for a few moments, taking care not to wet its handle.
Conclusion on the ceramic vibrator Lovemoiselle Cecile
What we like about the Lovemoiselle Cecile:
- Its beauty,
- Its aesthetic and original shape,
- Its surprisingly smooth material, which glides all by itself.
It will be criticised for:
- Its vibrations, which are of little use,
- And therefore its battery compartment, which prevents it from being waterproof.
Review score
Pros
- It's beautiful
- Its surface is incredibly smooth
Cons
- Its vibrations are very weak
- It requires batteries
I really liked the Lovemoiselle Cecile, although I did not really see the point of its vibration features. I tell myself that I should perhaps have chosen a non-vibrating sex toy from the same range instead, such as the Noemie or the Elodie.
Whatever the case, this ceramic sex toy was a very interesting discovery. Ceramic is a very smooth, soft and pleasant material for penetration.
