L’Artisan du plaisir is a French shop that makes and sells sex toys in wood, handmade in its workshop, which is located in the Pyrenees.
Six models, with alluring names such as “Caresses Enflammées”, “Passions Libertines”, “Séductions Coquines” or “Éveil des sens”, are on sale. Each model is available in five different wood types. The wood used comes from French forests, subject to strict controls and contributing to sustainable development.
The dildos and the plugs created by L’Artisan du plaisir are original, aesthetic and unique objects. In fact, the patterns formed by the natural wood grain differ from one piece to the other. 1 – How many employees do you have?
I have no employees. I make the sextoys myself depending on the orders. That is why I request a 10-day lead time before a parcel is dispatched.
2 – You don’t only make sextoys, I imagine?
At heart, I am a cabinet maker. I make and restore furniture.
3 – How did you get the idea to make sextoys?
One day, I was turning a table leg, and my wife was surprised upon entering the workshop to see a suggestive representation of a phallus on the wood lathe. That is how the idea to make … was born. wooden sextoys…
I later developed the project to the point of making beautiful, pleasant-to-the-touch sextoys, which are also partners in play and pleasure, which stand out from those we can find on the market and are safe for health. This final point was crucial to me.
4 – Can customers also buy sextoys directly at your workshop, or are they sold only online?
I sell them exclusively online.
5 – Among the types of wood offered, I see “beech and walnut wood” and “walnut and beech wood”. What’s the difference?
As for the types of wood, I use beech, walnut and ash because it is important to know that in France, legislation on the use of wood intended for “food contact” is very strict. Only beech, walnut, ash, pine and olive are authorised.
As for my sex toys, the difference between “beech and walnut wood” and “walnut and beech wood” is that the sex toy consists of either a triple lamination or a quadruple lamination.
