We Vibe Thrill: review of a G-spot vibrator with a handle

The We-Vibe Thrill is the latest from the We Vibe brand.

Unlike the We Vibe originals, which are worn during penetration, this sextoy, whose shape is nonetheless quite similar, is used on its own.

Larger than the We Vibe 3, equipped with the same power button as the Tango and the Touch, the Thrill stimulates the clitoris and the “G-spot” simultaneously. The curved part of the device is therefore inserted into the vagina, while the part with a handle remains outside, against the clitoris.

In English, “Thrill” means “shiver”, “pleasure”, “intense sensations”. A rather engaging little thing, then. We’ll just have to see whether the device’s effectiveness lives up to its name.

The box

The We Vibe Thrill box is nice to look at, sturdy and original.

Its outer shell, made of thin card, features the brand logo, as well as a product image and description. Once this is removed, you find a thicker box, which closes using a magnet in its lid.

When you open it, you find the sextoy, nested in a holder whose hollow shape complements the object’s.

The case

A storage case, made of white satin, is included.

Given the small size of the charger (which I will describe later in this article), it can easily be slipped into the case together with the We-Vibe Thrill for transport.

The sex toy

The Thrill’s shape resembles that of the We Vibe, with an added handle.

It is red, a shade quite rarely found on a female sex toy. No idea why, Tenga and many dildos or plugs for men are available in red, but when it comes to accessories for women, red is quite rare.

Texture and materials

The object is mainly made of medical silicone, except for part of its handle, which is made of ABS plastic. These two materials are safe; they pose no risk to the body.

It is completely odourless (even when sticking your nose right up to it).

The handle is rigid, while the central area is very flexible. As with the We Vibe 3, the orientation of the two “branches” of the sex toy relative to one another can be changed at will.

Its surface tends to collect dust. Which means that, even if you have just washed it a quarter of an hour earlier, you will always need to rinse it just before using it. That is not a big deal, but it is best to know, and to keep a tap or a cleaning product nearby.

Dimensions

The We Vibe Thrill is 10 centimetres high.

Its “branch”, which is inserted into the vagina, measures 12 centimetres long when stretched, 3 centimetres wide and 3 centimetres thick.

Charging

The charger is a small magnetic gadget, accompanied by a micro-USB cable, which is included.

 

If anything happens to the cable, it’s not too serious: as it’s standard, it will be easy to get a new one. But if you lose the other half (which is likely to happen, given its small size), you’re in a bit of a fix…

 

Charging takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes, for 2 hours of use, which is a very reasonable ratio.

Vibration modes of the We Vibe Thrill

The Thrill has eight modes:

• Four “classic” vibration modes.
• Two modes of regular pulsations.
• One “waves” mode.
• One rhythmic mode, alternating two slow pulsations and three fast pulsations.

It has a single button, which you press to switch from one mode to the next. Press and hold the same button to switch the device on or off.

When you switch the sex toy back on, it returns to the mode you were using before you switched it off.

Use

The We Vibe Thrill for couples

It says all over the place that, unlike the We Vibe 3, the Thrill is intended exclusively for solo use.

So I wanted to check this, because, well, it would have been silly to miss a brilliant hidden use, especially since, apart from being a bit bigger, its shape still pretty closely resembles that of the original We Vibe.

The manual was right. During penetration, the internal part of the sex toy is too thick to stay in place and slides to one side, making it uncomfortable, even unpleasant. But you wouldn’t blame it for not being suitable for a use it wasn’t designed for.

The We Vibe Thrill for solo use

First try: disappointing

On our first encounter, the Thrill and I sized each other up warily. This often happens with innovative sex toys (the Stronic Eins got the same treatment): I want them, but I remain sceptical until they’ve proved themselves.

To make matters worse, the first try was inconclusive. Outraged, I first threatened it with a stint in the cupboard of unused sex toys. In the company of the vibrating duck. It pleaded its case, and pointed out that I hadn’t properly studied how it worked.

Second attempt: an intense orgasm

I then pulled myself together, and decided to give it a second chance. Indeed, I hadn’t yet explored all its possibilities.

What had I done with the Thrill? I had tried the same approach as for the We Vibe 3 solo: once fitted to my pussy, I had mainly tried to stimulate my clitoris with the Thill. When in fact, no: it’s mainly on the “point G” (or rather, on the inner part of the clitoris, if – like me – you’re not a fan of these pussy-alphabet stories) that you have to bet on. Clitoral stimulation is there only as a bonus.

Once inserted, the internal part of the Thrill does indeed place itself on its own in the right area, towards the front of the vagina. To stimulate effectively, you then need to move the sextoy back and forth, fairly quickly, using its handle. By maintaining this pace for a few moments, you end up with a fairly intense orgasm.

In short, in the end, it works, and quite well. So I’m keeping it close by.

Admittedly, it could have been even better if the clitoral vibrations had been more powerful. A vibro is never too powerful (except perhaps the Rock Box). To be precise, the Thrill’s vibrations are very powerful (the motor is perhaps the same as the one in the Touch or the Tango, from the same brand) when held in your hand, but the hard plastic part seems to dampen some of it. I imagine that to get around this drawback, you’ll have to wait for the Thrill 2, if it ever comes out.

But The Thrill is already an experience worth having, for anyone interested in G-spot stimulation without necessarily being a fan of large diameters.

Conclusion on the We Vibe Thrill

Pros:

• The We Vibe Thrill effectively stimulates the G-spot  while having very small dimensions.
• It is made of safe materials for the body.
• It looks good, with its classy packaging, its case, and its charger, which can also come in handy if you need to charge a phone.

Cons:

• When it comes to the clitoris, stronger vibrations would have been welcome.

If you’re looking for a classic, “user friendly” sextoy, the We Vibe Thrill isn’t a vibrator for you. You need to take the time to discover it to make the most of its potential. But once the introductions are out of the way, pleasure follows.

I would therefore recommend the We Vibe Thrill without hesitation to those who enjoy taking the time to explore their bodies in search of new sensations.
