The Éros Idée du Désir is a beautiful wooden dildo that stands upright like an abstract phallic totem. Hand-carved in a workshop in Charente, this cherry-wood dildo is a genuine work of art that you can use to penetrate yourself.
When I discovered this new creation by the naughtiest of cabinetmakers, I immediately wanted to try it. A textured, fairly large dildo, the Éros is designed above all for G-spot stimulation.
Here’s my review of the Éros Idée du Désir dildo.
Sex toy packaging
We received the Éros at the same time as the Pearly, in a cardboard parcel, padded with paper. The packaging is 100% eco-friendly, just like the sex toys it contains.

A satin storage pouch is included with each sex toy. And this one will come in handy: wood is a durable material, but it doesn’t like knocks or rubbing against other rigid sex toys.
What the Éros Idée du Désir dildo looks like
The Éros Idée du Désir is all curves. But despite its wavy ridges, which bring to mind a honey spoon, its shape unmistakably represents an erect penis, complete with a pair of testicles, a curved shaft and a handsome glans. It’s not quite a human penis, though. Perhaps it’s the phallus of a forest satyr, or a creature that’s half man, half tree?
Whatever the case, it’s very pretty, and you could certainly display it as decoration if you fancy, and if you’re proud to have an erotic sculpture in your living room. However, don’t expect its phallic appearance to go unnoticed.
The Éros is 20 centimetres long and comes in two sizes: S, with a maximum diameter of 4 cm, and M, with a maximum diameter of 5 cm. A vibrating version is also available in size S.
Texture and materials
The Éros Idée du Désir dildo is made of wood, specifically white cherry wood.
An instruction leaflet, rolled up like a scroll, provides a few basic care instructions.
Nothing too complicated: water and soap or intimate gel for cleaning, then rinse it well and let it dry thoroughly. As for contraindications, just avoid solvent-based products, such as essential oils and hand sanitiser gel, which don’t mix well with vaginas anyway, and of course avoid knocks, which could damage the item.
As for lubricants, it’s best to go for water-based ones.
If it gets damaged, you can send the sex toy back to Idée du Désir to have it repaired.
In terms of texture, of course, it’s rigid and smooth—very smooth. Perfectly polished and varnished.
Using the Éros Idée du Désir
First and foremost, the Éros is a fairly large-diameter dildo. Don’t worry, it’s not going to get you into the Guinness Book of shagging, but it is still the size of a large penis.
What’s more, although it’s smooth, it’s completely rigid (well, it is made of wood), which makes it feel bigger on insertion. On the other hand, its surface is super smooth, it just glides along, and you only need a tiny amount of lubricant.

This dildo is intended exclusively for vaginal penetration. Although its base is wider, there’s no clear ridge to act as a stopper and prevent it going too far in anally.
The Éros lets you combine gradual penetration, a feeling of fullness, and intense G-spot stimulation. Its phallic shape, combined with its rigidity and the unmistakable warm, smooth feel of wood, has an incredible effect!
Conclusion on the Éros Idée du Désir
Review score
Pros
- Intense G-spot stimulation.
- Progressive penetration.
- Sensation of fullness.
- A superb wooden pleasure object, hand-carved by a French woodworker.
- Reasonable price.
Cons
- A bit large: won't suit everyone.

The Éros will easily win over fans of larger sizes and G-spot stimulation. The sensations it provides are intense.
What’s more, it’s a magnificent work of art, hand-carved in France by a passionate cabinetmaker.
And to top it all off, it’s not even expensive. Prices range from 86 euros for the non-vibrating S model to 93 euros for the vibrating version.
Thanks to Idée du Désir for providing us with the Éros for this review
