The Fairy Turbo is the latest sex toy from the Japanese brand.
You’ve probably already heard of the Fairy, this ultra-powerful vibrator, famous for its ability to send the most stubborn clitorises soaring.
We’ve tested a few versions of it on this blog: the corded Mini, the rechargeable Lithium, and the portable Pocket Mini.
Fairy has just released two new models: the Turbo and the Black Exceed. The Kisskiss.ch shop has agreed to provide us with one of them so that we can test it. So I chose the Turbo.
Here is the Fairy Turbo review.
Fairy Turbo packaging
The Fairy Turbo arrives in a cardboard box, in shades of pink and white.
It is decorated with visuals of the sex toy from various angles, with comments in English and Japanese, and a few fairies and butterflies (logos found on the brand’s other sex toys). This box is disposable.
A storage case, in fluffy pink fabric, is included. This case is similar to those of the other Fairy models.
The sex toy
Fairy Turbo appearance
Visually, the Fairy Turbo looks a lot like the Fairy Mini: a Sailor Moon magic wand, with a white head and a pink handle, with an electrical cable protruding from it.
Its head is a tiny bit wider than the Fairy Mini’s, and the plastic seems thicker. Another difference: this head is entirely smooth; it has no ridges on the sides like the Mini and Lithium do, which makes it easier to clean… On the other models, these bloody ridges tend to fill up with dried lubricant, and it can be a real hassle to get rid of it.
Between the handles of the two sex toys, a few cosmetic details differ: the Turbo’s handle is more pear-shaped, its adjustment wheel is slimmer, and, of course, the logo is different.
On the Fairy Turbo, the end of the handle finishes in a trumpet shape (perhaps to avoid damaging the cable?), and, above all, it has more ventilation holes.
Texture and material
The Fairy Turbo is made of hard plastic, like the other Fairy models. Its head is rigid, but its neck is flexible.
Power supply
Like the Mini, the Fairy Turbo is mains-powered. Its cable is a little longer: it measures 2.5 metres, compared with 2 metres for the Mini’s.
And, above all, a big novelty: it is equipped with a fan-based cooling system, which avoids overheating (and therefore probably reduces the risk of early failure). You notice it at full power: put your hand near the ventilation holes on the vibrator’s handle, and you feel a thin stream of air.

Controls and modes
The controls are the same as those on the Fairy Mini (or the Lithium, or the Body Wand): a wheel, which controls a potentiometer.
Keeping a finger near this wheel, you can adjust the vibration power as you wish, and go from “a bit strong” to “hyper-mega-ultra-brutally powerful” smoothly and without a jolt. It’s simple, intuitive and pleasant to use.
Use of the Fairy Turbo
Noise level
As far as the noise level goes, it sits in a similar range to that of the Fairy Mini… The Turbo is even a touch noisier. No miracles on that front: something that vibrates very hard makes a racket.
Handling
The Fairy Turbo’s handle sits well in the hand, the power of its vibrations is easy to adjust, and its cable is long enough to use it at a reasonable distance from the socket. It’s not really portable, but for use at home, it’s quite practical.
Effectiveness
The Fairy Turbo is still more powerful than the Fairy Mini: meaning: ultra-mega powerful.

In practice: do we really need that much power in a vibrator? It all depends on what you intend to do with it.
Using it as a classic vibrator (that is, directly on the clitoris), not really: I’ve never pushed it to maximum power that way… It vibrates too strongly, my clit is scared…. And I don’t need to turn it up to the max to reach orgasm hyper-fast.

On the other hand, it enables other rough-vibratory techniques, by playing with how the vibrations propagate.
These are intense enough to very easily lead to orgasm even when aiming next to the clit. They provide interesting sensations, and there is less friction, so you can use it for longer.
It can also be used through clothing.
Comparison with the Fairy Mini
- The Fairy Turbo’s head is smooth, without ridges, which makes it easier to clean.
- It is equipped with a ventilation system, which prevents the motor from overheating (and therefore probably increases its lifespan).
- The Fairy Turbo is (still!) more powerful than the Fairy Mini (and that’s not saying much).
- Its cable is a little longer.
The drawback:
- The Fairy Turbo is more expensive. It costs around 80 euros, compared with around 50 euros for the Fairy Mini.
What is equivalent:
- The look: a few details allow you to distinguish the two models, but you’re still dealing with a pink sex toy shaped like a microphone.
- The noise level: it’s noisy. If the walls are too thin at your place, your neighbours may wonder what you’re doing in your bedroom with a blender.
Conclusion on the Fairy Turbo
The Fairy Turbo is an improved version of the Fairy Mini: it is still more powerful, easier to clean, perhaps sturdier, and its cable is a little longer.
On the other hand, it costs more, but the price difference is not excessive either.
In short: it all depends on the budget you’re planning to spend: the Fairy Mini is a particularly effective sex toy and, overall, quite well designed; the Fairy Turbo is even better, and even more powerful, but its price is a little higher. Both are absolutely worth recommending, and hyper-effective.
