A reader, who wished to remain anonymous, tested the Fun Factory Bootie anal plug.
Sex toy packaging
The sex toy arrives in a very compact cardboard box. The Bootie barely fits inside – you even have to slightly bend the handle, which doesn’t fit, even diagonally. Since the plug is flexible, there’s no problem. So there’s no wasted space with a huge box… Don’t expect idyllic contents: apart from the plug and a leaflet, there’s nothing else. On the other hand, if, like me, you prefer to choose your own lubricants, you have no use for the sachets provided… In short, you only find the essentials, and that’s it. Given the reasonable price of the plug (around 20 euros), it’s clearly not a drawback. You might regret the lack of a case to store the sex toy?

Appearance and dimensions of the Fun Factory Bootie
The Bootie measures 8 centimetres (insertable length of 6.5 cm) with an insertion diameter of 3 cm at its widest and 1 cm at the handle. It is therefore clearly of small dimensions.

Texture and material
The Fun Factory Bootie is made of 100% medical-grade silicone and is manufactured in Germany. In short, a healthy product, with nothing particularly special to note. The sex toy is flexible, both at the handle and at the body. Due to its texture, and as you can see in the photo, it tends to attract dust. It will therefore be necessary to clean it well before and after each use. As usual with silicone sex toys, don’t mix with other silicone sex toys *, use water-based lubricant **.
(*) Note from Elle :
That’s what I used to think too, but I’m gradually coming to realise that it’s probably not the case… (rummaging through a hundred sex toys wrapped in near-identical pouches is a bit like a lottery…). In short, we set aside the ones we had doubts about the composition of, and stacked the others (the ones made of -real- 100% silicone, wood, glass, metal,…) together on shelves, in contact with one another, and stripped of their pyjamas… sex toy skirmishes that we’ve catalogued so far have all, in the end, turned out to be devices made from a material like jelly or some other weird stuff (which we had bought, at the time, as silicone).
(**) Note no. 2 :
As for the question of compatibility with silicone-based lubricants, this too is a bit less binary than expected. It depends on the toys (more precisely, the type of silicone they are made of) and the lubricant. Vixen Creations are completely incompatible with silicone lubricants: it would deteriorate them. But, having already used silicone-based lubricants (among others, Pjur and Easy Love) with toys Fun Factory, Lelo and We Vibe, I have never noticed any damage whatsoever damage. I’ve never noticed the slightest trace of damage. That said, you can’t really know in advance, so if you’re planning to use silicone-based lubricant with a silicone sex toy, it’s best to test on a small area first to make sure it doesn’t damage it.
Using the Fun Factory Bootie plug
Although made of soft silicone, the Bootie is rigid enough to be inserted without any difficulty. Once lubricated, the silicone is genuinely slippery and the plug slides in with no difficulty or preparation whatsoever. Its small size truly makes it an ideal sex toy for beginners. Its flexibility, combined with the position of the handle, makes it entirely possible to wear for a while without any discomfort. It’s soft, it’s comfortable, and it adapts to all positions. But one might fear that, given its small size, it won’t stay in place… That’s not the case; its design ensures that once inserted, it won’t slip out on its own.

By comparison, having also tested the Nexus G-Play Medium, the Bootie is narrower, shorter, but as a result much more comfortable. When using it, I’m able to reach a prostate orgasm. This is truly a major plus, unlike an Aneros, where you need to remain lying down, here you can go about your business and string together prostate orgasms on demand, without having to lie down… Unlike the Nexus G-Play Medium, the Bootie anal plug stays firmly in place. Indeed, if during the contractions close to a prostate orgasm, the Nexus G tended to slip out, the Bootie makes no attempt to escape.
Conclusion on the Fun Factory Bootie Anal Plug
So, the Bootie – an ideal sex toy? My take has been very positive so far, but I should still put things in perspective.
Indeed, other reviews have been less flattering – some users don’t reach a prostate orgasm with it and find it too small. It’s true that, as I’ve mentioned, its dimensions are really very modest, and many will find it far too small.
But as a result, it turns out to be perfectly suited for beginners, and given its price, I think it’s “THE plug” to try to get started and discover. The only thing to regret is that it doesn’t come in different sizes (Small / Medium / Large) to please everyone.
But, even for those who are used to it, the advantage of this sex toy is that it’s really very comfortable to wear: it’s soft, flexible, and of reasonable size. So it can be worn without awkwardness or discomfort.
Clearly an excellent value for money, to be recommended! :-)
