Lelo Iris: a review of a luxury flower-shaped vibrator

on

An iris is either the coloured part of the eye, or a blue or yellow flower whose rhizome is used in perfumery. It is also the name of my new toy, the Iris by LELO.

Lelo Iris

LELO is a bit of a design brand when it comes to sex toys (and vibrators in particular).

So let’s see if the Iris lives up to its reputation.

The sex toy packaging

You can tell at first glance that you are dealing with a quality object.

The Iris packaging is impeccable and nicely finished. When you open the box, you find… another box, a prettier one.

And in the second box… No, don’t worry, it is not a third box.

The Iris is indeed there, on a plastic holder shaped to fit it. If you lift this holder, you discover its charger, as well as a satin case that lets you store it without taking up much space.

The look of the Lelo Iris vibrator

The Iris doesn’t particularly look like an iris. In fact, I’d rather have said tulip. But okay, in any case, it is pretty and has the shape of a flower about to bloom.

The design of the Iris is meticulous in every detail. The look is pleasing: its harmonious shape, smooth curves and soft hue take good care of our eyes. It has no gap between its handle and the insertable part, nor at the adjustment button, which contributes to the overall impression of good quality.

In case you still have any doubts about that, its 10-year warranty confirms this assumption.

Texture and material

The Iris has a fairly firm texture without being rigid. It is very smooth to the touch. The insertable part of the sex toy is covered in silicone, a body-safe material.

Noise level

Well, as I have already pointed out for other vibrators, it vibrates and therefore cannot be completely silent. But among the vibrators in my collection, the Iris is by far the quietest.

Power supply for the Lelo Iris

The Iris is rechargeable, and its charger plugs into a port located at the end of its handle. This port is hidden by a rubber cover, white like the LELO handle.

Lelo Iris in its case

On the handle in question there is a light ring, which flashes while charging, and whose light becomes continuous when charging is complete. This ring turns red when it is once again time to recharge the Iris.

The only thing one could criticise in this respect is that the charger does not fit perfectly into the port in question, leaving a few millimetres of the charger plug exposed while the Iris is charging. Since this small visual detail only comes into play when you are not using the object, only the fussy will dwell on it.

Controls of the Lelo Iris

The button that lets you turn on, turn off or adjust the intensity of the Iris vibrations is reminiscent of one on an mp3 player. It is simple and intuitive (four arrows: up, down, left, right). The instructions are more than obvious.

Lelo Iris

  • To turn on the Iris, press and hold the up arrow.
  • Increase the intensity? Up arrow.
  • Decrease it? Down arrow.
  • Choose a mode among the pre-programmed vibration modes? Use the left and right arrows to navigate between modes in order to select the one that interests you.

Using the Lelo Iris

As you can well understand, the Iris is a wonder when it comes to design. Your eyes are delighted by it, and your ears are at peace. Well, dear Iris, it is all very well to have won over the eyes and not attracted the wrath of the ears, but let’s now see what the main parties concerned think.

The Iris is intended for vaginal and clitoral use.

Mr Clit’s opinion

The Iris is very pleasant with its adjustable vibration programmes. It may be a little too firm, or not powerful enough – one or the other – to be perfect for clitoral-only use.

Mrs Fuzzybottom’s opinion

The Iris is an ideal sex toy for vaginal use. It has two separate vibrating motors, one at the base and the other at the tip of the insertable part, which allows for gentle, regular stimulation.

Lelo Iris

Its curved shape is perfectly suited to female anatomy and to G-spot stimulation.

And nothing stops you from using a second vibrator at the same time for clitoral stimulation.

Conclusion on the Lelo Iris

The LELO Iris is one of my favourite sex toys.

Rechargeable and therefore convenient (no need to go hunting for batteries), very pretty, quiet, with a storage case supplied, everything is thought out for the user’s comfort.

In addition, it is ideal for use for two. Its quietness and beauty allow it to integrate perfectly and harmoniously into foreplay.
