La Love Motion by Lovehoney is a portable and rechargeable fucking machine
Thanks to this blog, I had the chance to test a fucking machine at one point. I had enjoyed the experience, but finding numerous flaws with the thing, we decided to buy a high-end sex machine, which I may well talk about in the future: our budget suffered. So I decided to explore alternatives to suggest to you for discovering the back-and-forth sensations of a fucking machine, at a reasonable price?
Here is my review of the Love Motion.
Sextoy packaging
The packaging is a simple thin cardboard box. Inside, the machine and its accessories are individually wrapped in plastic. Not something to spend hours on.
The Love Motion’s design
The Love Motion is made up of four parts. First, there’s the fucking machine itself, a sort of large black housing, a bit bigger than a Tenga masturbator, a bit smaller than a packet of Pringles. Its base has an adjustable suction cup.
Next, the two dildos. One is a “realistic” dildo, a straight, single-coloured dick, of a “credible” diameter for a human penis, but a bit long. The other is a purple device, very curved: a typical shape for a sextoy dedicated to G-spot stimulation. Note that their mounting system doesn’t correspond to any standard for which you could easily find compatible accessories (like Vac-U-Lock). So you’ll very probably have to make do with these two, unless Lovehoney decides to sell others.
And finally, a remote control.
Texture and materials
The two tips of the Love Motion are made of silicone, so they’re body-safe, which is extremely rare in budget fucking machines. A very good point on that front, then.
Powering the Love Motion
The Love Motion is rechargeable. And admittedly, it’s not exactly a proper sex machine, but I had never seen a rechargeable fucking machine before. I own dozens of vibrators, and from experience I know that a rechargeable sextoy is rarely as powerful as its corded counterpart, but it also makes it more convenient to carry around and use anywhere.
The charging cable is USB, with a jack plug on the sextoy end. You plug it into the centre of the controls.
Controls and modes
The Love Motion has four buttons. And they’re all useful. A round button turns the sextoy on and off, another with two arrows adjusts the amplitude and speed of the thrusts, one with a zigzag selects the vibration mode, and the last one activates or deactivates the heating function.
The remote control has similar buttons. It turns out to be very handy, because while using the Love Motion, your fingers can barely reach the buttons on the housing.
Using the Love Motion
The suction cup
I’m mixed on the suction cup of the Love Motion. Its grip is excellent on tiles or glass. However, when I tried to fix it to the industrial wood edge of our bed, it quickly lost its hold. That didn’t stop me from using it in bed, holding it at arm’s length… But I’ll admit it takes away part of the purpose you might be looking for in a fucking machine, namely not controlling the movement yourself, or at least not directly.
The heating function
The heating function of the Love Motion emits a gentle warmth, which spreads through the tip of its insertable part. No risk of burning yourself, its maximum temperature hovers around forty degrees, it’s just enough to keep cold bottoms warm.
The phallic dildo
I thought the phallic dildo would be less prone to friction than its curved counterpart. But in reality, its straight shape is intercepted by the curvature of the vagina, which offers it resistance, slowing its movement. You then feel that the device could do with a bit more power. But once you find the right angle, its thrusts turn out to be very pleasant already.
The “G-spot” dildo
The “G-spot” dildo suits female anatomy better. You insert it with its curved part oriented towards the navel. Its curvature matches that of the vagina, and it penetrates with greater ease. The thrusts thus become sharper and faster, encountering less friction. This allows the tip of the appendage to strike the G-spot at a steady pace, an excellent ingredient for powerful orgasmes.
Conclusion
Review score
Pros
- Affordable, for a near fucking machine
- Orgasms are on tap
- Original and fun
Cons
- Lack of power
- Lack of suction cup grip
Let’s be clear: the Love Motion is not a full-blown fucking machine. It’s not powerful enough to deserve the title. If you want the complete, intense experience of robotic penetration that won’t threaten to turn to mush at the first contraction of your inner parts, I have bad news for you. You’re going to have to break the bank and buy a fucking machine.
But if you don’t have the budget for that (a good fucking machine costs an arm and a leg), the Love Motion remains a very interesting compromise for experiencing mechanical thrusts at a lower cost. It costs less than €150, which is the price of an ordinary “luxury” sextoy, its accessories are made of silicone, it’s portable, and it already delivers quite a few orgasms.
Thanks to Lovehoney for providing us with the Love Motion for this review
