The online shop Kisskiss.ch allowed us to test the Luxotiq Lyssa glass dildo.
Unlike the Rock Box, what particularly attracted me to the Lyssa was its beauty.
And its material, which intrigued me. A glass sex toy is certainly not an invention from yesterday. During the Renaissance there were already glass dildos, which were filled with hot water. But, despite that, glass is not a material you come across very often in sex toys.
I also really liked its box, which was equally elegant. But let’s see what’s hidden in this pretty box…
The box
The Lyssa is presented in a very pretty white and pink cardboard box, solid, lined with white satin on the inside, which will serve as a storage box. This box closes with an integrated ribbon, which is tied on the outside.
You might worry about the risk of the sex toy falling out if the box is not closed properly. The ribbon solves the problem. All you have to do is make a solid knot. And avoid placing the box upside down, just in case.
A cleaning cloth, pink like the sex toy, is included in this box.
The sex toy: a glass dildo
My first reaction upon discovering the Luxotiq Lyssa in its box was to exclaim “ouaaah”. It is really very pretty.
The box had announced the colour, but when you observe the Lyssa up close, the impression is confirmed: the object exudes quality. Made of transparent pink glass, perfectly even, with a discreet white etched logo.
Sturdiness
A major advantage of glass dildos is that you don’t need to worry about possible chemical reactions that might occur. Unlike plastic materials, glass is unlikely to melt. Or else it must be incredibly hot in your home: at least a good thousand degrees.
Of course, you still need to avoid subjecting it to knocks. Glass breaks, we’re aware of that. The Lyssa is not a sex toy you can carry around with you everywhere. And for the same reasons, it must never be inserted at the same time as other objects, especially if they are hard.
In any case, the glass is thick and compact. It seems very unlikely to me that the Lyssa could break without a prior knock. Anyway, just be careful. Don’t have a lightsaber fight with it and put it back in its box after use.
You can also heat it, in a water bath or under tap water, or cool it, in the fridge or freezer, to vary the sensations. The instructions for use state that it must not be heated in the microwave, nor cooled in dry ice, but, uh… ahem… who would do such a thing?
Care
The Luxotiq Lyssa is made of glass and has no battery. It is therefore ultra-waterproof, you can immerge it without any problem, and use it in the bath. Provided, however, that you pay attention to where you put it, and avoid knocks against the sides or the bottom of the bath. So you have no difficulty cleaning it.
It is recommended that you wash the sex toy with an antibacterial soap (basically, a normal soap) and water, then dry it using the soft cloth. But the user manual states that the Luxotiq Lyssa goes in the dishwasher without any problem.
For my part, I don’t really see the point in putting it in the dishwasher, given that it is completely smooth, and very easy to wash by hand. And I don’t feel like taking the risk of it being attacked by a vengeful little spoon.
You also need to be sure to check, before each use, that the Lyssa has no cracks. Because, if, despite all the precautions you have taken (or not), an accident happens to this pretty sex toy and it ends up with the slightest little crack (yes, even a tiny one), it is sentenced to a monotonous retirement as a paperweight. You must absolutely, definitely not use it if it is damaged.
Using the Luxotiq Lyssa
Contact with the hard, smooth glass is an interesting sensation, very different from that provided by silicone sex toys and other plastic materials, and very pleasant.
The two ends of the sex toy are different sizes, and both can be inserted (No, not at the same time! Or have you ever seen glass being bent?), which allows you to start with a gentle penetration using the smaller end, then follow up with the bigger one using the other end.
The shape of the sex toy is very practical for stimulating the internal part of the clitoris commonly called the G-spot.
Of course, unlike vibrating toys, the Luxotiq Lyssa needs a few little efforts to manoeuvre. But you are amply rewarded by the result.
If you shouldn’t insert it alongside other sex toys, you can still use a clitoral vibrator at the same time (you should still avoid letting the two sex toys come into contact with each other, I don’t know if the Luxotiq Lyssa likes vibrations). With the Luxotiq Lyssa in the vagina and the Womolia Heat on the clitoris, I think I smashed my record for the number of consecutive orgasms (although I was far too busy to bother counting them).
Conclusion on the Luxotiq Lyssa glass dildo
The Luxotiq Lyssa is a pretty non-vibrating glass sex toy, of good quality, in a pretty box. I really appreciated this object, original, classy, and very pleasant to use.
The glass is a very interesting material in terms of sex toys. The sensations are different, and the object cleans easily.
But I wouldn’t use just any glass erotic accessory, because the slightest design flaw could turn out to be dangerous. The Luxotiq Lyssa, which shows no imperfection (neither on its surface nor inside), inspires confidence, and I use it without hesitation.
