I’d been really keen to try the Goodfella by Vixen Creations for a long time: it’s a rather unusual realistic dildo.
The American brand Vixen is hard to find in France. It makes sex toys from pure silicone, renowned for their particularly realistic texture, thanks to a patented formula it developed: VixSkin.
Someone from the Lovehoney shop, which recently launched its French version, got in touch to offer us some sex toys to test. Noticing several VixSkin products in its catalogue, I jumped at the chance.
Here’s my review of the Goodfella by Vixen Creations, a realistic silicone sex toy with a flat base, suitable for wearing in a harness, wonderfully squishy, and sporting a fine pair of testicles.
Sex toy packaging
The packaging is simple, understated… and disposable. Made of clear plastic, it keeps the dildo protected while letting you have a look at it before unwrapping.
As the VixSkin is quite soft in places, it’s best not to leave the Goodfella lying around unprotected. It could easily get squashed, not to mention the risk of a chemical attack from a less honest sex toy. I strongly recommend getting a box or storage case to protect it.
What the Goodfella looks like: a thoroughly realistic dildo
The Goodfella looks like… well, it looks like a cock.
It’s smaller than I imagined… Unlike the Fleshjack, it doesn’t represent the sex of a male porn star (who often tend to have quite a big willy), but a handsome penis that’s fairly average in size. About 18 centimetres long (including the base), with 13 cm insertable, and a 3.5 cm diameter.

So, average… The eternal debate over the average size of the human penis keeps getting new figures thrown into the mix*, so I couldn’t say whether it really is average, but in any case, it’s not something I’d call “gigantic” or “tiny” if it were a human reproductive organ.
(*) Recently, cocks have shrunk. Or, at least, their official average size has. We’ve gone from 14.15 centimetres (a 2014 study of 1,661 men who measured themselves while masturbating) to 13.12 cm erect (a 2015 study of 15,521 men; their penises were measured by healthcare professionals using a standardised procedure).

This phallus comes with a pair of plump testicles, which aren’t part of the dildo’s base but “dangle” beyond it… They aren’t wrinkled, but their surface is covered with little raised goosebump-like bumps, and the line down the centre of the scrotum is nicely represented. I haven’t had the chance to inspect hundreds of dildo “balls” in my life, but these are the most realistic I’ve seen so far.
The Goodfella is slightly curved, with its head pointing upwards.
Beyond the head, there’s a textured area that seems to represent a retracted foreskin (unless it’s circumcised? I looked at a whole load of photos of cocks to compare, but couldn’t reach a definitive conclusion), then the veined shaft, the root and the testicles, and finally the base, which is a circle flattened at the sides.
Texture and materials
The “realistic” dildos from Vixen Creations, including the Goodfella, are made from a patented material called “VixSkin”. Unlike most patented materials designed for making “realistic” sex toys, VixSkin is made from 100% platinum-cured silicone.
Let’s have a feel.

The Goodfella’s testicles are wonderfully squishy. I take great pleasure in pinching them and exclaiming “Squeak! Squeak!”. It would be embarrassing—and painful—if I kept up this bad habit near a real pair of testicles.
The shaft is firmer, firm enough to hold a nice straight erection (if the penis were as soft as its balls, it would only be good for helicopter dick), while still being a little flexible—about as much as a real erect penis: you can bend it, but you can’t fold it in half. The head is softer, while the base is nice and firm.

In short: when it comes to realistic texture, it’s seriously convincing.
All right, put it next to an erect penis and you can still tell the difference straight away by touch (I used him as my guinea pig for the comparison).
The surface of the dildo is less soft—it’s smooth and squishy, certainly, but it isn’t skin (once lubricated, or under water, the difference becomes less noticeable). And when you hold a penis in your hand and give it a little squeeze, you can feel it’s “full of tubes” (the erectile tissue? The veins? In any case, you can tell its texture isn’t uniform… If you have a penis handy, you’ll see what I mean), which obviously isn’t the case when you’re fondling the Goodfella. But without a penis to compare it with, it can fool you.

This isn’t the first “multi-texture” realistic sex toy we’ve come across. We previously tested the Tantus Max O2, which also has the good taste to feature firmer and softer areas.
But with the Goodfella by Vixen Creations, we reach another level of realism: you can make out a whole range of shades of “squishiness” depending on which part you’re fondling. They could have called it “Fifty Shades of Cock” (but that would have been a very silly name).
The brand’s official website gives us a few details about its magic formula. The secret is that VixSkin contains a silicone-based lubricant (with a similar composition to what’s used in most commercially available silicone-based intimate lubricants), suspended between the molecules, which is what gives it its elasticity and “realistic” feel.
Cleaning and lubricating the Goodfella by Vixen Creations
VixSkin (which is a type of silicone) is a non-porous material that doesn’t degrade over time.
It can be cleaned with soap and water, but you can also boil it for a perfect disinfection.
For lubrication, given the particular composition of VixSkin silicone, it’s best to stick to water-based lubricants.

Use: vaginal penetration
When using the Goodfella, you can hardly tell it from a real penis.
The head is particularly convincing. It’s usually this part that gives away a sex toy’s identity: on first contact, the “head” of a dildo is most often distinctly firmer—and often colder… Whereas the Goodfella’s is all “squishy”.
To give the Goodfella a “believable” temperature, just warm it up for a few moments between your hands or under the tap. Once it’s warm and covered with a little lubricant, it passes for the real thing.
The presence of the testicles also adds quite a bit to the realism. When you have sex involving a human penis, unless there’s a glory hole or very encompassing bondage, at some point or another you’ll come into contact with a pair of balls…
Anal penetration
You’ve probably had enough of watching me rave about how realistic this thing is. We get it: it looks a lot like a penis, sensations and all, and the same goes for anal penetration.
Let’s focus on just one detail… a sizeable one. Because when choosing an anal sex toy, one question we often ask ourselves is: “Will it fit in my bum?” (meaning: without being uncomfortable).
A few answers:
- If a penis fits, this will fit.
- If you don’t know whether a penis will fit: it’s not gigantic, but its size is still nothing to sniff at. But it’s squishy, which helps.
Wearing it in a harness
Those balls mean the Goodfella can’t be slid through a harness ring head first. The ring has to sit between the base and the sex toy’s “testicles”, and there’s no magic solution: you have to pull on the ring and twist the base in every direction until it goes through. It’s a bit of a pain. But once it’s on, it stays perfectly in place.
The best option might be to plan ahead and put it on the harness beforehand.
Contact between the person wearing the harness and the person being penetrated is limited by the “testicles” getting in the way, which is a drawback in itself. But on the other hand, I find it funny to be kitted out with a pair of dangling balls… It’s an interesting experience, and it ramps up the “realistic” side of things, while also allowing for all sorts of roleplay involving the appearance of a penis.
Conclusion on the realistic Goodfella dildo by Vixen Creations
The good points:
- The great VixSkin texture, pleasant and thoroughly realistic, with soft areas and a firmer core (this isn’t the first sex toy I’ve described as a filled caramel, but its texture is even better than that of the Tantus Max O2).
- … All made from pure silicone.
- The Goodfella is visually very realistic.
- It has testicles (convincing ones, and squishy too), which is fun.
The bad points:
- Putting it in a harness is a bit tricky because of the testicles.
- Its fairly high price (nearly 110 euros): it’s justified by the quality, but the Goodfella is still a substantial sex-toy investment.
I really like the Goodfella and its material, VixSkin, which has a fantastic texture.
If you’re looking for a nice realistic dildo and your budget allows for it, and the prospect of fondling a pair of sex-toy balls appeals to you, don’t hesitate: the Goodfella is waiting for you. Otherwise, if you’d prefer one without testicles, Lovehoney has several other VixSkin sex toys (from Vixen Creations, naturally).
