The Svakom Gaga is both a vibrator and an endoscopic camera. It has a small camera and a lighting system, which allow you to make videos of the inside of your own anatomy or your partner’s.
It’s pretty much what I was describing as “Do-it-yourself macro porn” when I was telling you about the sex toys of the future.
Inside a vagina, anus or mouth: the final video certainly doesn’t promise to be the height of sexiness… But the prospect of exploring my intimate parts with a high-tech gadget was bound to pique my curiosity.
The Sextoys Addict shop agreed to supply one so that we could try it out and give you our opinion.
Here’s the Svakom Gaga review.
Svakom Gaga packaging
The packaging is impeccable. The Svakom Gaga comes in a sturdy cardboard box with two layers, a little reminiscent of the packaging for LELO sex toys.
Inside, the sex toy is neatly nestled in a foam base with a hollow shaped to keep it in place.
A lovely soft grey fabric storage pouch is included.
The box also contains a cable, which lets you recharge the sex toy and use it as a camera, an instruction manual, and a CD containing instructions for camera mode, along with video-capture software.
What the endoscopic camera vibrator looks like
The Svakom Gaga looks like a cigar case.
It’s black, cylindrical, and measures 16 centimetres long and 2.5 centimetres in diameter. I imagined it would be much smaller: in its promotional photos, it looks like a mini vibrator.
One end looks like a torch; that’s the camera end. The other has a hole for connecting the cable.
Texture and material of the Svakom Gaga
The Svakom Gaga is made of firm silicone. Its surface is firm but soft.
Powering the camera vibrator
The Svakom Gaga recharges via a USB port. Its cable is rather unusual: USB at the computer end, and a jack plug at the sex toy end. If you lose it, you won’t easily find another one like it.
When the cable isn’t plugged in, you can put a little rubber squeaker provided for the purpose into the socket. This probably helps make it more waterproof.
Speaking of waterproofing, the instruction manual describes this vibrator as “waterproof to a depth of one metre”.
I didn’t chuck the endoscopic camera vibrator into the bottom of the bath to check whether that was true. But I had no hesitation about washing it thoroughly, and so far I haven’t noticed any particular problem in that respect.

Controls and vibration modes
The Svakom Gaga has four buttons.
The first, decorated with a logo showing a vibrator with its light switched on, is used to film. I’ll talk about it in the section on using the endoscopic camera.
The other three, grouped together, control the vibration functions:
- The central button switches the vibrator on and off (by holding it down) and cycles through the modes (with a short press).
- The other two increase or decrease the vibration strength.
The Gaga has six vibration modes, all adjustable in intensity.
How effective is it as a vibrator?
As a vibrator, the Gaga does a pretty good job. Its vibrations are powerful enough to achieve an orgasm when using it on the clitoris, and you can also use it for vaginal penetration.

Noise level of the camera vibrator
The Gaga is pretty quiet: you can barely hear it.
Instructions for using the sex toy’s camera
The instructions for the camera on the included CD are a bit rubbish. Instead of explanatory screenshots, whoever wrote them actually took photos of their screen: you can see the flash reflections!
But it doesn’t matter, because we don’t really need those instructions. When plugged into a USB port, the Gaga simply behaves like a webcam, and is recognised as one.

The Svakom Gaga’s endoscopic camera doesn’t need drivers. The supplied programme, which runs on Windows, simply lets you record video from a webcam. But any video-capture software will do the trick.
Before you start, make sure the jack plug is properly inserted into the camera socket, otherwise the camera won’t be recognised.
Downsides of the camera
There are three downsides to using the camera:
- Camera mode only works when the Gaga is plugged in; it has no internal memory. So, to film the inside of your pussy or any other orifice, you have to be connected to a computer by a cable. That really limits what you can do with it.
- USB ports that are a bit too underpowered aren’t compatible, nor are some extension cables. The cable is rather short, which isn’t ideal. I tried making my internal porn on my desktop PC, but in the end I had to move the tower to get the job done.
- When the Gaga is plugged in so it can be used as a camera, its vibration functions are disabled. Edit (June 2015): after reading another review of the Svakom Gaga, I learnt that the model I tested probably had a manufacturing defect in this respect (or perhaps the problem lies with our PCs — USB ports delivering too little power, maybe?).
Good points about the camera
On the plus side:
- You can see the image in real time, which lets you choose exactly what to record.
- Once you’ve found the right USB port, it’s pretty easy to use: one button to switch the camera on or off, and one click to start recording.
A video filmed with the Svakom Gaga
I was hoping to imitate Annie Sprinkle by inviting you to take a closer look at my cervix.
But there’s a problem: once you get past the entrance to the vagina, everything’s blurry. The camera doesn’t have enough depth of field; the vaginal walls are too close to its lens for it to capture sharp images. In short, towards the back, all you can see are vague shades of pink. Pink, pink and more pink.
I’ll let you judge for yourselves all the same. But don’t worry, if you were hoping to see something slimy, you’ll still get your fill despite the blur. On the other hand, if you were hoping to watch a sexy video, forget it. It looks more like a botched attempt at an anatomy lesson than anything pornographic.
In this video, I move the sex toy in and out a few times in an attempt to see something. So here’s my pussy, from the inside (but blurry):
Well, in fairness to the thing, I didn’t take 8,000 shots to get this one. Perhaps with a bit more practice using the equipment, you can manage to make a slightly clearer video. I’ll update this article if I manage to do better.
(Had nightmares after watching this video? I promise we’ll make it up to you soon, with things that are much sexier!)
Edit: A little animated gif to sum it all up, in case the video doesn’t work for you.
Conclusion on the Svakom Gaga endoscopic camera vibrator
The good points:
- The concept is really original, and funny. Plus, exploring your own anatomy like this can be educational.
- As a vibrator, the Svakom Gaga is fairly effective and discreet.
The bad points:
- Using it as a camera is quite a hassle: you have to use it as a sex toy while it’s connected to your computer with a fairly short cable, with all vibrations switched off. And yet, these shortcomings could have been avoided quite easily.
- The result is ridiculously blurry: in the end, you can’t see much.
Review score
Pros
- I love the concept, particularly original and fun
- As a vibrator, the Gaga is quite effective
Cons
- The camera image is very poor: you can't see much
- Using the camera mode is a bit of a pain: with a short cable plugged into the PC
I would have really liked to recommend the Svakom Gaga. I love gadgets that combine sex and technology, and I was really taken with the concept: I was practically trembling with impatience at the thought of playing doctor with this thing.
But unfortunately, the camera side of it is nowhere near up to scratch: it’s fun to use, but in practical terms, it doesn’t make decent videos. Although the Svakom is a nice vibrator, as a plain vibrator it isn’t worth the price it’s sold for (nearly 130 euros, after all).
For the same budget, or even less, you can get a lot better: for example, you could buy the Lelo Gigi 2, and still have enough left over for a reasonably decent webcam.
