Review of the Jo Organic organic lubricant

on

We have tested the organic lubricant Jo Organic.

When it comes to lubricants, the term “organic” is often used haphazardly to refer to any product whose composition is not too nasty.

But the Jo Organic lubricant is the first truly organic lubricant that we have had in our hands. It carries the organic label US, which certifies, among other things, that its ingredients come from organic farming.

It also carries the seal “Cruelty free”, which attests that it has never been tested on animals.

Here is the review of the Jo Organic lubricant.

Packaging

The lubricant is packaged in a 135-millilitre bottle, for just under 11 euros, which makes for a perfectly reasonable quantity/price ratio. A larger capacity version is also available.

The bottle is simply wrapped in clear plastic film. It opens easily and reseals airtight with a press on its cap.

On the label, you can read “Jo certified Organic personal lubricant”, as well as the list of ingredients and some usage tips. You can also see that it is made in the USA.

Appearance and texture of the Jo Organic organic lubricant

The Jo Organic organic lubricant is translucent white.

Its texture is very dense, it doesn’t run. This consistency makes me think a bit of the Pjur Toy Lube, which we had tested some time ago.

Scent and taste

The Jo Organic organic lubricant is virtually odourless. If you really put your nose right up to it, the faint scent you detect is quite neutral.

As for its taste, it is barely perceptible, which is very good as it is.

Composition: an organic lubricant

The Jo Organic organic lubricant contains no glycerine, no parabens, no petroleum derivatives, and its ingredients are 100% natural. So, a particularly healthy composition.

The ingredients listed on the bottle: water, carob gum, aloe vera leaf juice, powdered açaí pulp, xanthan gum, citrus extract.

Apart from the water and the xanthan gum (it’s a very common food additive, produced by the action of a bacterium), all the other ingredients are plant extracts sourced from organic farming.

It is compatible with condoms (this is stated on the packaging) and since it’s a water-based lubricant, the sex toys should not run any risk with it.

Usage

The fairly thick texture of Jo Organic lubricant means it doesn’t spread all over, and it doesn’t evaporate very quickly. In short, it lubricates fairly effectively (for both vaginal and anal penetration), and without getting it everywhere.

Once it’s time to have a shower, it comes off quite easily. In fact, it rinses off with water.

Conclusion on the Jo Organic bio lubricant

objetsdeplaisir-test-lubrifiant-jo-organic-14The good points:

  • Its composition is particularly healthy: 100% natural and organic.
  • It lubricates effectively, and doesn’t evaporate too quickly.

No bad points for this lubricant.

The Jo Organic lubricant is almost fault-free.

In fact, it does not contain any dodgy substances. No glycerine at all, unlike three-quarters of water-based lubricants commonly available. What’s more, it is organic and certified cruelty-free.

Finally, it lubes effectively and doesn’t drip. And to top it all, it isn’t overpriced.

So I recommend it without hesitation. This lubricant is really great.
