Despite some submission/dominance play, I had never tried “real” leather cuffs.
Since the Body House boutique gave us free rein to test one of their products, I chose a pair of leather cuffs.
So here is the test of the Rimba cuffs.
Packaging
Let’s not kid ourselves, I was genuinely disappointed with the packaging. I hadn’t had any particular expectations, but there, I have to admit that on the one hand, it’s rather ugly: a plain plastic bag, with a cardboard holder to keep it all together. It gave me the impression of low-end toy packaging… And on the other hand, I found the accompanying photo rather vulgar.
Anyway, I’m not going to dwell on it. After all, you can keep the cuffs in a drawer just fine; no need to protect them any more than that.
Unpacking the Rimba cuffs
Appearance
The cuffs are quite imposing, somewhat in the spirit of a restraint cuff, but much thicker.
They look solid, but not exactly sexy. Besides, the carabiner clips look a bit cheap.
Use of the leather cuffs
First try
The cuffs roll around the wrist and have notches for adjustment.
They are quite long, which makes them a rather thick bracelet around the wrist. So they are comfortable.
The only downside is that the notches are a bit too far apart. Hard to adjust precisely. As a result, my partner and I can take the cuffs off without even undoing them…
Given their length, I tested them and they can also easily be used as ankle cuffs.
Each cuff is equipped with a carabiner clip, which opens and closes with a simple press. You can put them on and take them off on your own if you’re a bit dexterous. No risk of finding yourself in a compromising position, tied to the bed by your lover while your other half comes home (yes, I must have watched too many bad TV films…).

Use in context
We played with these cuffs in a fairly soft context, and I must say they do their job well.
As mentioned before, they are really comfortable, and you don’t feel any discomfort when wearing them.
The carabiner clips are practical. They can be attached either directly to each other or to the cuff, which allows you to vary the distance between the hands (which can be useful if you attach them to a bed frame, for example).
It is also handy to be able to unclip the carabiner clips without having to take everything off, if you want to move on to something else without losing time.

Having only tested these cuffs in a soft domination context, I’m not sure, given the small adjustment issue, that they won’t slip off during more intense play. But for not-too-intensive use, they do their job very well.
Conclusion on the Rimba leather cuffs
The good points:
- They are comfortable
- They are practical
The bad points:
- The notches are too far apart to tighten sufficiently around the wrist
- Their length does allow for more comfort, but it is not very aesthetic
The Rimba cuffs will therefore be more suitable either as a first purchase, or for use in a soft BDSM context.
