Lotion Urin Rends

Test of the Urin Rends lotion, an urine-imitating product

on

The authors of this blog having decided to delegate this review to others, my partner and I volunteered. And so we had the honour, and the joy, of testing a product that imitates urine: the Urin Rends lotion.

Urin Rends lotion

Not being true kamikazes, we stuck to observing this lotion, and did nothing with it that could even come close to evoking sex.

Here is the review of the Urin lotion, from the Japanese brand Rends.

Packaging

The urine-imitating product comes in a 60-millilitre plastic bottle. It is protected during shipping by a plastic film.

It is not accompanied by a pipette, which could be more practical for use.

The smell: a urine-imitating product?

After removing the protective film, a smell immediately hits you: it smells like plastic. The question being: is it the smell of the bottle, or that of the liquid it contains?

The urine-imitating product
The Urin lotion

The answer is not long in coming; it is indeed the lotion that smells like that. We cannot agree on what it reminds us of. Plastic, a cleaning product, petrol, tar? In any case, something quite unpleasant, very chemical, and not resembling urine at all.

The appearance of the Urin lotion

As for the smell, it is not really that, then. What about the appearance?

When pouring it, you notice that it is extremely viscous. Um… For me, urine was rather liquid, after all. This is more like snot.

My partner, being brave, volunteered and tested it more closely. On contact, it is sticky, it sticks… And when rubbing her fingers together, it even tends to foam.

The Urin lotion on a pair of knickers

We had a pair of knickers take part in the experiment. I imagine this could be one of its uses… The product being very thick, it takes a little time to soak into the fabric, and if you move it, it runs. The yellow colour is not very pronounced either. In any case, less so than in the photos you can see of it on the internet.

The good news is that the product does not stain (the knickers should escape it) and that it washes out very well with soap. The bad news is that this indefinable smell is very persistent and remains even after several washes.

The composition

The very chemical and sticky side is not very reassuring, and does not give the impression that this urine-imitating product is genuinely good for health. Personally, I would not take it anywhere near my mucous membranes. Even though the appearance could evoke a lubricant that would smell very bad, we preferred to abstain.

On the ingredient label, we were able to read this: “Purified water PG Polyacrylic acid Ethanol Perfume artificial color Sodium dehydroacetate EDTA-2Na”.

Polyacrylic acid is, according to Wikipedia, a thickening agent used for example in adhesives, textile fibres or paper coatings… It does not particularly inspire confidence in me.

And as for ethanol, I wonder whether the product could be flammable as a result. But we did not go that far in our test. So, nothing very reassuring.

Conclusion on the Urin Rends lotion

Not being a specialist in urophilia, I was not expecting this kind of product to appeal to me particularly. But in this case, this lotion has nothing that resembles urine, apart from the colour.

It is above all a product with a very pronounced and very unpleasant smell, which does not really make you want to play with it. Even less so when you see its price: €24.90 a bottle, that’s an expensive poor imitation.
