VR Bangers is a platform for VR porn. One of the best-known ones, and ultimately, there aren’t that many offering quality content.
A representative of VR Bangers got in touch to invite us to visit the platform and take a look (or rather, two looks, so we could see it in the Oculus Quest — that’s better) at its content. So this was our chance to watch some VR porn and tell you all about it.
VR Bangers, VRB Trans and VRB Gay
The brand actually has three separate platforms: VR Bangers, VRB Trans and VRB Gay.
VR Bangers offers straight porn, VRB Gay offers gay male porn, and VRB Trans offers porn featuring transgender women.
Most porn platforms separate their gay and straight versions, much to the dismay of bisexuals, who have to buy two subscriptions. But separating “trans” porn from straight porn is a little less common. And, to be honest, it’s a bit odd, since the vast majority of VRB Trans subscribers will probably also be straight people signed up to VR Bangers.
Note: in everyday life, online when you’re talking to people, or in any other context, fetishising transgender people is offensive, for a number of reasons. But this VR Bangers tour is about a porn site, not everyday life. It’s the world of your fantasies, and those are your business. It’s also the world of porn and its age-old, indestructible stereotypes. So we’ll accept that the categories have names that perpetuate stereotypes, as they do on pretty much every porn site, and won’t get worked up about it any further in the rest of this article.
VR Bangers: the categories
There’s a fairly limited choice of categories. It’s all mainstream porn. Everything is soft, so the categories are a little far-fetched. The “mature” women are twenty-five, the “curvy” ones don’t have an ounce of fat on them, and the “public” category is filmed in a studio. In short, the content is pretty “classic” porn.
On the other hand, there are quite a few cosplays and porn parodies. If that’s your thing, you’re in for a treat! The story around the sex scenes isn’t as developed as in the madcap porn parodies from Woodrocket, but the costumes are fun and help create an immersive atmosphere.
Two of the “categories” are actually links to other VR Bangers platforms, accessible only with specific subscriptions.
The quality of videos on VR Bangers
In virtual reality, video quality is essential, and far more important than in 2D. This is mainly because the screen resolution is spread across your entire field of vision, and because it has a big impact on how immersed you feel in the scene.
Quality depends first and foremost on how old the video is. On VR Bangers, the most recent videos are really top-notch! As for the others, many are good quality, or at least good enough for an enjoyable VR experience (4K, among other things). The oldest videos, on the other hand, aren’t great.
However, the quality is a little lower on VRB Trans, and lower still on VRB Gay. Probably because there are fewer videos overall, and therefore fewer recent ones?
Technically speaking, the most recent videos:
- There are no proportion issues, unlike what you could see in the early days of VR porn.
- The resolution is spot on: between 6K and 8K, which is perfect.
- With the Oculus Quest via Link, at the time of testing, the video quality when streaming is limited to 6K. However, by downloading the video, we were indeed able to play videos at up to 8K. But to be completely honest, in practice, we personally didn’t really notice a huge difference beyond 5 or 6K. We had to scrutinise the image really closely to see one. Suffice it to say, 6K streaming suits us just fine!
We could do without the slightly cringe-worthy opening slogan at the start of every video. For example, on VRB Trans, it’s “I have a cock too, hihi”, along with the logo. But hey, when one of the biggest porn studios is called Dogfart (“dog fart” in French), it’s not hard to look past it.
Ease of use of VR Bangers
Watching VR porn on PC
With just about any PC VR headset, or an Oculus Quest (1 or 2) via Link or Virtual Desktop, using VR Bangers on PC is very easy. You just need to install a video player, then log in to the site in a few clicks and enter your details. That part’s a bit of a pain with the virtual keyboard, but no worse than entering a username on a games console with a controller, and you only have to do it once.
Watching VR porn on Oculus Quest
The player, Play’a, isn’t available in the Oculus Store. First, you need to install SideQuest, an alternative app store that lets you use apps from third-party sources. A PC seems to be needed for this initial installation step (just the once), which might be a little daunting for the less tech-savvy among us. After that, though, it’s very easy to use.
It’s worth noting that the app has a “panic button”, a shortcut that lets you switch instantly to family-friendly feline content.

Via the app or a web browser
VR Bangers offers an app for watching its videos, but you can also access it via a web browser, which is handy for browsing the video library before putting your headset on, for example.
And you can also do it in the headset, using the player mentioned above, so it’s possible to watch your porn by streaming — just like on any current tube site or YouTube: click, watch (with the inherent lag, especially when we’re talking about 4K videos or higher). But if you prefer, you can also download all the videos locally. They’re in a perfectly ordinary format (such as h264/mp4), so you don’t need a specific app to play them. That’s cool: it means you can keep your videos after your subscription ends. I’m not at all sure that even platforms like Pornhub offer that (at least, not as far as I know).
One major drawback, though: downloads were fairly slow in our tests. If you live in the countryside or a small town, your internet connection probably won’t make this obvious. But for city-dwellers with fibre broadband, whatever your connection speed, you should expect download speeds of around 2 MB/s, give or take. In practice, an 8K film takes bloody ages to download, and streaming in the app often stops to buffer, like YouTube in its early days.
Subscriptions to VR Bangers
As for subscription prices:
- For VR Bangers and VRB Trans, there’s an unlimited “lifetime” subscription. The VR Bangers one costs 250 euros, while the VRB Trans one costs 150 euros. The bundle giving you access to both sites costs 350 euros.
- Alternatively, a monthly subscription to one of the three platforms, for example, costs 25 euros. There are various other subscription options, and the longer you subscribe for, the lower the price.
Conclusion on VR Bangers
VR Bangers’ content is still focused on fairly “classic” porn: the platform won’t cater to every kink. That said, there are quite a few VR porn cosplay videos, which make a welcome change from the usual fare. There are plenty of videos, generally with good quality and an increasing number are even of excellentquality, and some also offer excellent immersion thanks to the camera work and sound.
