Three developers created an AI that watches pornographic films and describes what it observes, even though it has never ‘seen’ any porn before.
This curious innocent pervert is one of the entries at the Stupid Hackaton, an event dedicated to creating daft projects.
The AI in question uses the Computer Vision API from Microsoft Cognitive Services, an image recognition tool.
Its interpretation, published on the Twitter account @robotpornaddict, is rather naive.

Sometimes, the robot describes porn with surprising accuracy
But sometimes, although innocent, its interpretation turns out to be accurate in essence:
- “A woman sitting on a bed?” Yes, indeed, in porn, a bed is often involved.
- And it’s being filmed. So far, not wrong. “A woman looking at a camera?”
- “A woman with her mouth open?” Still not wrong.
But other times, it’s completely off the mark
And other times, its take on things is hilarious and cute:
- “A close-up of a person holding a banana?” A slightly phallic banana, but we weren’t so far off, in the end.
- “A woman brushing her teeth?”: According to this AI, it seems humans spend an insane amount of time brushing their teeth.
- “A blurry photo of a cat?” A pussy, to be precise. But lexically speaking, there are similarities.
However, if you prefer your robots a bit more perverted, this one, although significantly less elaborate, writes absurdly erotic texts.
