The Kisskiss.ch shop sent us a few surprises. Among the items we discovered in the parcel was the teaSpa Harmony Badetee bath tea.
Tea, I usually drink. I wouldn’t have thought to bathe in it. But why not…
In reality, it is not really tea at all, but rooibos (or “red tea”), an infusion made from an African shrub in the acacia family.
About the bath tea
This tea comes in a large tea bag, which looks exactly like… a giant tea bag.
Unfortunately, the instructions say that you must not drink it. But I imagine it wouldn’t be a disaster if you accidentally swallow a little, would it: it hasn’t been tested for food use, but it’s still herbal tea. Out of curiosity, I did taste the bath water a little; it’s not bad, and it really does taste like tea.
The rooibos in the teaSpa tea is organic. This means, among other things, that it comes from organic farming (so, no pesticides, no GMOs). It is also certified fair trade (admittedly, this label is criticised because it lacks checks and only focuses on the producers, not their employees, but that’s already better than nothing).
We received the Harmony version, whose scent is meant to be relaxing. The teaSpa Badetee tea is available in two other scents: Well-Aging (“firming”) and Love (“aphrodisiac”).
The Harmony tea contains rooibos, lemongrass leaves and lemongrass flavour, vanilla flavour and passionflower.
Using the bath tea
The tea bag is contained in an airtight pouch, which protects it from moisture. You open the pouch with a pair of scissors (the easy-open is a bit stubborn) to get it out.
You fill the bath with hot water, then dip the tea bag into it. You let it steep for a few moments… and then all that’s left is to pretend to be a sugar and dive in.
You get a delicately scented bath, which really does smell like tea, with a natural tea colour (copper yellow).
When you get out of the bath, you smell nice. The scent lingers on the skin, while remaining discreet enough to be pleasant.
Conclusion about the teaSpa Harmony Badetee bath tea
The Tea Spa bath tea is not a product you would call erotic. It is more in the realm of cocooning and relaxation. But it is welcome for a relaxing bath, alone or for two.
It is a pleasant and natural product that we really enjoyed testing.
This infusion is for sale at Kisskiss.ch, whom we thank for this discovery.
