We tested a stainless-steel sex toy : the Pipedream Metal Wörx Mr Smooth dildo. This metal dildo, in its small case resembling a miniature briefcase, immediately caught my attention.
A metal dildo, it’s handy: it’s sturdy, it can’t break or go wrong. It’s also very easy to clean, with water and soap, or even by boiling it, if you intend to sterilise it.
The contact of its metal surface can be a very interesting sensation. “Smooth” means smooth. Is it as smooth as its name suggests?
So let’s discover Mr Smooth.
Packaging
Mr Smooth comes in a nice little metal case. This case has two labels, one on top, one underneath, which hint at its contents.
But if you want more discretion, you can peel off these labels, and it will go unnoticed (or nearly so).
It’s fairly sturdy and closes securely (but not with a key, despite its quilted look).
It is padded with foam, which keeps the sex toy in place. Admittedly, Mr Smooth isn’t really bothered by bumps. But the padding helps avoid noise when carrying it, and thanks to the case’s closure, you won’t drop it onto the tiled floor.
The sex toy
Appearance and dimensions
The sex toy is a single piece. Both ends can be used. One is spherical, and the other is more elongated.
It is fairly small. It measures 15 centimetres long. Its diameter reaches 3 centimetres for its spherical end and for the widest part of its elongated end, while at its thinnest point, in the centre, its width does not exceed one centimetre.
To visualise the scale better, in the photo below, you can see it alongside a small standard lighter.
But despite its small size, Mr Smooth is very heavy, you can really feel the weight of the metal.
If you look very closely, you can see 2 or 3 micro-defects on the surface, but they are small enough not to be visible in the photos and are not even felt (at all) to the touch.
Texture and material
Mr Smooth is made of stainless steel. As a result, it is very hard, very solid, heavy, and it quickly takes on the temperature of its surroundings.
You can take advantage of this to Playing with temperature, putting it in the cold or the heat before use. For example, holding it under hot water from the tap for a moment is enough to warm it up.
Use
Vaginal use
The elongated part of the sex toy is the one best suited for vaginal use.
On first contact, it’s completely cold (unless you’ve warmed it beforehand, of course). It then gradually takes on body temperature.
You can, of course, also use a vibrator on the clitoris at the same time without any problem.
Anal use
The spherical end is designed for anal use. But with such a simple object, the only valid instruction manual is the one that tells you to let your imagination run wild. Use whichever end you want, wherever you want (not in the ear, it won’t fit).
Conclusion on the Pipedream Mr Smooth Dildo
The good points:
- Its case, classy and practical.
- It’s very pretty.
- It’s extremely sturdy, its material does not rust, does not wear out, does not react chemically with lubricants or other sex toys, and it has no batteries or electrical circuits that could wear out.
In short: the only ways to make it unusable are to hammer it (and even then…) or to lose it.
The downsides:
- No particular downside. Simply, the object does not vibrate and does not have any specific “functionality”. This is not a downside in itself, but no doubt some will pass it by without stopping for this reason.
The Pipedream Mr Smooth dildo is an elegant object, which stands up to time and knocks, and can therefore be kept for a very, very long time. That is fairly rare for a sex toy: plastics (silicone included) eventually wear out, while glass and ceramic risk breaking if you are not careful enough.
