Tenga 3D Polygon male masturbator review

With its abstract look, which could evoke a contemporary art sculpture, the Tenga 3D Polygon is one of the non-disposable sex toys from the Japanese brand Tenga.

Tenga 3D Polygon

After testing a Flip Hole and a Tenga Egg, I think the Tenga 3D might be an interesting compromise between these two sex toys.

So let’s take a look at the Tenga 3D Polygon.

Buy it from espaceplaisir

Sex toy packaging

The sex toy is placed on a plastic stand black. You’d think you were seeing a work on display under a glass case in a museum.

The rest of the box, which covers it, is made of clear, hard and thick plastic.

It isn’t unattractive as a whole. However, you’ll be disappointed that this box doesn’t close very well.

When you open it, you find the sex toy, secured on a plastic rod, its instruction manual, and a single-use dose of Tenga lubricant.

The Tenga 3D Polygon’s appearance

The sex toy is, therefore, pushed onto a rod that keeps it upright. Let’s remove it from its base.

The object is a white elastomer cylinder, very pretty with its multiple facets.

But to use it, you have to turn it inside out.

Indeed, it’s the textured area that will stimulate the penis. It therefore needs to be placed with that side facing inwards.

Which gives it… far less class. Well, inside out, it looks like a sausage. No big deal. After use, we just need to turn it over before placing it back on its base, so that the pretty side faces outwards again.

Using the Tenga 3D Polygon

I don’t know if you’ve had the chance to try a Tenga Egg… But after rigorous tests, my penis and my right hand are unanimous. The Tenga 3D is to the Tenga Egg what a 112 cm flat screen is to an old 70 cm CRT, or what a five-star gourmet pâté tin is to a discount-brand sample of cat pâté, or what a leather armchair is to a camping chair, or yet… Um, anyway, I’m digressing. Exactly the same thing, but bigger and better (and more expensive).

No, Jason, you’ve put it the wrong way up!

So it results in the same kind of experience… but better. That is, unlike most male masturbators (the Tenga Flip Hole, for example), it remains almost “normal” masturbation, usual movements, etc…

As I had already said in the Tenga Egg Spider review, I much prefer this type of masturbator, which keeps a more “natural” side. Of course, that’s just my opinion, and I don’t think everyone feels the same way.

There you go, that’s better!

So, in the end, is the Tenga 3D Polygon enjoyable?

Clearly, yes.

The material is very soft, the famous “polygons” are all soft too. This also makes me wonder. If the material is exactly the same for all Tenga 3D models, I find it hard to imagine that one can feel the differences between one model and another, or at least that it has an impact on the quality of the experience.

That said, the fact that all the Tenga 3D models might be a bit alike is not a problem if you only buy one. Besides, it remains a hypothesis, since the Polygon is the only one I’ve been given the chance to try.

Tenga 3D Polygon

As for small details you might wonder about before buying, here’s what I noticed:

  • The dimensions are perfect to my liking. As the material is so elastic, I think any penis will feel comfortable in it.
  • The “handling” is very practical as well. It’s worth noting that if, by chance, lubricant ends up on the outside, the Tenga becomes a surprisingly slippery object, and may then need 2 hands to stop it slipping away. A bit like a wet bar of soap, in fact.
  • The polygonal texture is therefore pleasant, though in my opinion, polygon or whatever else comes down to the same thing.
  • The material seems a bit more fragile than those used in Tenga Flip Hole. But there’s nothing alarming either, and it seems logical to me, since it has to be stretched continuously.
  • The box isn’t the most practical for putting it away, but again, nothing catastrophic. Either way, you only put it back afterwards, not in the heat of the moment.
  • Unlike its Flip Hole cousins, its interior has a quite pronounced plastic smell, unpleasant if you stick your nose in it. But it’s not your nose that you’re going to put in there.

Conclusion on the Tenga 3D

At the risk of seeming consistently satisfied with the masturbators I test, I really liked the Tenga 3D. In fact, I’m even wondering if the Tenga 3D isn’t the one I prefer, but I have to admit I haven’t tested many of them.

Tenga 3D

I’ll note the following advantages:

  • You masturbate normally. But better.
  • Nice design.
  • Small, easy to clean, etc..
  • Much cheaper than the more “classic” masturbators.
  • On another note too: no more problems with post-masturbation cleaning or issues of this kind. Like a condom, in fact.

And finally, few downsides:

  • A “display stand/box” slightly less “cheap” would have been welcome.
  • Similarly, since it consists of only a single piece, Tenga could have paid a bit more attention to the finish for this price. But to be honest, which brand does better?…

To sum up, I would recommend it, particularly with regard to two types of considerations:

  • The first is simple. In this price rangethere, it can be hard to find an effective masturbator, and that doesn’t look like a pornstar’s arse in phthalatejelly, with no head or legs.
  • Second, I would also recommend it to people who, like me, are a bit put off by the “Branlomatic 3000 in which you put your cock” of most masturbators and simply prefer to keep their masturbation as it is, but make it more effective, more pleasant, more pleasurable.

The shop Les Dessous du Plaisir, who sent us this toy, unfortunately no longer exists. But its creator has other interesting ventures, in particular the Cabinet de Curiosité Féminine, which organises workshops dealing with female sexuality from every angle (among others, that of eroticism).
