Tenga Egg Spider masturbator review

The brand’s famous “eggs” from Tenga, disposable accessories for male masturbation, come in a variety of forms. With waves, dots, hearts, every pattern makes an appearance. The Tenga Egg Spider is one of these models.

Tenga Egg Spider

So let’s take a look at this rather particular Easter egg.

What, it’s not Easter? It’s all about eggs and bunnies, though…

Exterior of the Tenga Egg

From the outside, the Tenga Egg Spider is shaped… like an egg.

Which is hardly surprising, given its name.

But there’s no risk of mistaking it for a chocolate egg. You’ll notice that the patterns on its packaging represent what its internal texture will look like.

Once the first layer of plastic is removed, however, you’d almost think you were dealing with a surprise egg straight out of a toy vending machine.

Interior of the Tenga Egg Spider

The egg

The egg is made of elastomer, a soft and very elastic material.

Its internal structure (the spider’s “web”) is a raised grid.

The lubricant

Inside the egg, safely tucked away in a small capsule, is a single dose of lubricant.

The lubricant provided is welcome, and it’s the bare minimum, since after all the egg is meant to be single-use.

Using the masturbator

The principle

Using it is very simple. You place the egg over the glans, its textured inner surface in contact with it. Then, you masturbate more or less normally… with the exception of the egg.

And that is one of the notable features of Tenga eggs.

Unlike a Tenga Flip Hole, or Fleshlight masturbators or many others, it’s not a big plastic thing you put your willy into. It’s something that slots in between your little hands and your genitals and will improve (at least that’s the aim) a “classic” masturbation, without replacing it. And that changes everything!

I’ll note in passing that, in my experience, this feature is common to Tenga Egg and the Tenga 3D, a review of which will appear in due course, but anyway, let’s get back to our Easter lambs.

The sensations

Describing to you precisely the sensations I experienced seems difficult. What are the right words to objectively describe a tactile experience? I don’t know. But I can say that I didn’t find it unpleasant, quite the opposite !

It would be hypocritical to praise a transcendent experience with a Tenga Egg. But it’s impossible to deny that the little extra added by the egg truly exists and can be assessed without possible ambiguity. What remains is the question of “do you prefer it without, do you prefer it with?”. But that applies to nearly all sex toys.

Conclusion on the Tenga Egg

The short version

I liked :o)

The long version

Don’t expect a torrent of earth-shattering sensations. But that’s exactly what I appreciated.

I’m not a big fan of male masturbators and prefer to masturbate “normally”, so this one is perfect. I masturbate, but with extra sensations, which, in the end, since I still hadn’t mentioned it, did indeed let me come faster and with less “effort”… Even if the word is rather poorly chosen…

So as for the effectiveness of the product itself, I have nothing to add; I was satisfied with it.

The downside: disposable?

A minor drawback of a different kind, and still one to be considered: Disposable? What a shame.

It’s very easy to clean, and the manufacturer could easily address the two features that make it a disposable item:

  • Its very thin wall, which makes it fragile.
  • The lack of a practical and hygienic way to store it: in its airtight shell, it’s best to keep it thoroughly dry.

And that wouldn’t affect the manufacturing cost all that much… On the other hand, fewer eggs would be sold if people didn’t need to regularly replace their Tenga eggs…

As a result, for something disposable, it’s not cheap !

But I remain convinced that with proper storage and hygiene, you can use it quite a few times before needing to get rid of it, whatever the brochure says.

Tenga Egg

In short

In summary, it’s a product I find very likeable, too expensive for single use, but conversely very cheap if you manage to keep it for a while, the feasibility of which needs to be verified.

In any case, for a few euros, you can buy one at the small sex shop round the corner or at Le Lapin Magique to make up your own mind. Which is more complex in the case of “real” masturbators, which stray into other price ranges.
