You can find them in all shapes, sizes and colours. How do you choose the right vibrator? Only testing a vibrator can tell you whether it’s worth your while.
Because, well, pretty sex toys are lovely, but a vibrator is first and foremost a functional object. If the sensations aren’t there, a sex toy, however beautiful, is of no interest at all.
Vibrator review: the ultra-powerful ones
The ultra-powerful vibrators and I have a great love story. These are sex toys that deliver on their promises every time, in no time at all, and without the slightest effort on your part. There you go: an orgasm, then more, and more again, barely lifting a finger. They’re the ultimate sex toys for lazy women, or for those who want to spice up their sex life with ultra-forceful vibrations without having to pay attention to the exact position of the vibrator.
Maïa Mazaurette’s Fairy, “thirty seconds, showers included”, hasn’t been one of a kind for a long time. Clitoral vibrators are competing with one another to offer us more and more power.
But power isn’t everything. The texture and flexibility of the head, as well as the controls, play a major role in how comfortable your next bedside companion is to use.

Vibrator review: classic clitoral vibrators
There’s more to life than ultra-powerful vibrators! There are loads of “classic” clitoral vibrators too. And they have plenty going for them, often with a less bulky design and battery power that means you can take them anywhere.
Waterproof ones will even join you in the shower or bath, while mini vibrators will go everywhere with you in your handbag.

Vibrator review: rabbits
Rabbits are sex toys that provide double stimulation. They have two arms. One is inserted into the vagina, while the other stays on the outside, bringing vibrations to the clitoris.
Personally, I think rabbits have one major drawback. To get clitoral stimulation, you first have to insert the vaginal arm of the sex toy all the way in. That penetration can come a little out of the blue for me, as I prefer to build up the excitement with vibrations first.

Vibrator reviews: suction vibrators
Recently introduced to the sex toy market, suction vibrators offer a new type of clitoral stimulation. They have a tip that surrounds your clitoris and, held still in place, sucks and vibrates it.
The sensations are simply delicious… Provided you choose a suction vibrator with the right level of power for your anatomy and sensitivity. Some women will find many Womanizers a little too weak, while others will find their clitoris offended by a sweet little Satisfyer.
Not all contactless clitoral stimulators deliver the same sensations, which vary depending on the technique used. There are also “sonic pulse stimulators”, Lelo’s Sona models, which “pulse” around the clitoris, and the result, quite similar in terms of the nature of the sensations, is intensely powerful!
In general, the sensation produced by a suction vibrator is reminiscent of that moment during cunnilingus when you’re right on the brink of orgasm, just before the grand finale. Except it lasts longer, right up to orgasm, and you can do it several times!

Vibrator review: pulsators
Pulsators are innovative sex toys too. The concept appeared a few years ago with Fun Factory’s Stronic.
How does it work? The sex toy contains a metal ball. When the vibrator is switched on, this ball moves around inside under the influence of electromagnets, giving the toy a jerky back-and-forth motion. There are several Stronic models, each with its own specific features. Some pulsators are designed for anal penetration, others for the G-spot, and still others are multi-purpose.

Vibrator review: for the G-spot
To stimulate the G-spot, you can use a curved dildo or a vibrator with a curved shape, whose head presses on the erogenous zone while flooding it with vibrations.
Good G-spot vibrators are hard to find. But in this category, you sometimes come across gems, like Lelo’s Mona 2, which remains one of my favourite sex toys.
Sex toy reviews: other vibrators
Some vibrators don’t fit into any of the previous categories. They can be inserted, combining penetration and vibration, but their shape isn’t specifically designed for G-spot stimulation. Sometimes, you can also use them externally against the clitoris, although that isn’t their only use.
