It had been ages since we’d tested any adult games… Now, with the long winter evenings approaching, rather than a game of Scrabble or Battleship, a little cheeky game is a welcome way to keep each other warm. So, when Roxane, from Passage du Désir, offered us the chance to share our thoughts on her latest creations for the Concorde, we were tempted. The first of these games, “Hasard et Plaisir”, is played as a couple.
Here is our review of the game “Hasard et Plaisir”.
Presentation
Format
The game “Hasard et Plaisir” includes two dice, an hourglass, and 138 cards, 69 “for him” and 69 “for her”. It should be noted from the outset that it targets only heterosexual couples – all the more so since many dares explicitly designate non-mixed body parts (vagina, testicles, etc.). The game rules are printed on a simple sheet of paper.
The whole thing is stored in a cardboard box, sturdy and attractively illustrated, but it can take up much less space if you decide to carry the cards, dice and hourglass in a bag, for example.
The game
The players
The game is played by two people, as a couple (or at least with someone you plan to have sex with – potentially involving vaginal penetration).
The dares
The dares are fairly ‘classic’ physical practices, ranging from a gentle soft caress (example: ‘Give them a slightly naughty massage of their hands and fingers’) to vaginal penetration (example: ‘He is sitting naked on a chair; give them 10 caresses with your sex followed by 10 penetrations’)… Well, to be honest, they’re not extremely original. Massaging, caressing, licking – possibly with a preliminary spread of jam or honey – or (being) penetrated, and that’s about it.
The dares, categorised by recipient and by category
For each sex, the challenges are divided into three categories of 23 cards: Soft, Sexy and Hot. The category indicates the ‘degree of eroticism’ of the dare: a massage will be soft, a blowjob or a cunni will be hot.
A few examples of dares suggested by Hasard et Plaisir:ard et Plaisir: et Plaisir: Plaisir:aisir:ir: :
- Soft: Give them a sensual shoulder massage that strays slightly onto their cleavage.
- Sexy: Handcuff her to a chair and do a strip-tease twenty centimetres from her face.
- Hot: Masturbate her while holding her hair and looking at her with confidence.
For Her:
- Soft: Nibble her earlobes while gripping her hair.
- Sexy: Dip her fingers in a jar of honey or jam and lick them with a look that says it all.
- Hot: Dressed in lingerie, rub your bottom against his naked sex.
A few ‘For Her’ challenges
Game rules
One of the two dice is ‘classic’, with faces numbered from 1 to 6, while the other gives us the name of a card category to draw from (‘Soft’, ‘Sexy’ or ‘Hot’). You start by rolling the numeric die to set the ‘fetish number’, which you’ll keep in mind throughout the game. Then, on each turn, both players roll the dice again, and the player who gets the score closest to the ‘fetish number’ rolls the second die (‘Soft’ / ‘Sexy’ / ‘Hot’) and then draws a challenge from the corresponding deck (in case of a tie, roll the dice again).
Depending on the type of card drawn, the number of points a player can earn if they complete the challenge varies:
- 0.5 points for a Soft challenge
- 1 point for a Sexy challenge
- 2 points for a Hot challenge
Conversely, declining a challenge results in losing a point. The game rules don’t account for the situation where the other player refuses to act as a guinea pig for completing the challenge (for example, if your partner is keen to have you spread jam over their sex and lick it all, but you have absolutely no desire to be the bread). (for example, if your partner is keen to have you spread jam over their sex and lick it all, but you have absolutely no desire to be the bread). However, it is perfectly reasonable to consider that any refusal could cost a point.
Once the dare has been completed (unless the card states otherwise, the duration of the dare is determined by the hourglass running out), you roll the dice again, and so on.and so on. so on….If either of the two players reaches orgasm before the end of the game, they immediately lose. In the absence of an orgasm, the first player to reach ten points wins the game, along with the right to ask the other for whatever they please for the rest of the evening.
Conclusion on the adult game Hasard et Plaisir
The good points:
- The fact that it is the dice score that determines who has to perform a dare adds a sense of suspense. It’s not ‘take turns’ – you can’t predict in advance what direction the game is going to take.
- The presentation of the game is nice. The box is pretty, the cards have a cool look, which immediately makes you want to start a game.
The bad points:
- The dares are somewhat lacking in originality… They’re nice, but they don’t really stray from what one might expect from a ‘classic’ adult game.
Hasard et Plaisir will not revolutionise the concept of an adult game: at its core, it is quite classic. But it remains a really nice little game, pleasantly presented, which can give you a very good evening.
